I just received my Tracking #'s for my 4xInnovations rear bumper, 3 weeks to build, And an estimated delivery of this Friday. And Adam has answered every Email and Phone Call.

just something that needed to be done a Long time ago and has really helped the engine's performance, a new air intake 'hose' and sealed up a couple cracked vacuum lines - what a difference! :cowboy:

Rear cargo LED bulb from SuperBrightLEDS.com (installed July 2016) burnt out this past week after flickering for a few days. Replaced it with a new 31mm LED from Amazon

I know my brake fluid looks nasty, hoping to get the TBU and new OEM LBJs installed this weekend.

Considering that looks like the original radiator and I don’t see a clutch fluid reservoir, I hope there will be a radiator swap forthcoming unless it is bypassed.

How much for the SC if you don’t mind me asking?

Yeah, new rad coming soon as well. Good eye on spotting the rad. Originally we agreed on $1100 including some civic suspension parts I had left over from an accident. I didn't know how bad the damage was to it so after he examined them and found significant damage to where it'd be best to just buy a new one we agreed on $1700 for the SC. Still need to install a/f and boost guage.

Yep. It was a very obvious coolant-in-the-cylinder situation, billowing coolant-smelling exhaust, misfire code on #3, coolant shooting out #3's spark plug tube after taking the plugs out and turning it over.

And because of a smidge over 300,000 and also how far down you have to tear it down for one head....

Which turned out to be a good thing, two pending failures at 4 and 6, no sign of actual leak yet but here's one of those spots.....

Yep. It was a very obvious coolant-in-the-cylinder situation, billowing coolant-smelling exhaust, misfire code on #3, coolant shooting out #3's spark plug tube after taking the plugs out and turning it over.

The deformation on that gasket is scary, which begs the question - what's the service history of the top end, was that from the factory?

I was in the same boat but went the ebay $14 ko route on that top knuckle

I found the rest of the hoses OEM for cheap except for that dang PVC hose, it was the single most expensive one lol

I've done the valve cover gaskets and replaced the knock sensors. Other than 3 timing belt jobs that's about all the engine-ish-invasive things I've done to it.

Back when I bought it at 119,666 miles in '05 I called and checked on recalls done or pending- Toyota said only the rear spring recall was done. There is an unreadable recall tag on the truck. There's nothing engine related in the receipts I received. Doesn't mean it wasn't done, though.
I believe there were 3 head gasket versions and this definitely is not the last one, but I don't know the difference between the earlier ones. Nothing I haven't taken apart looks to have been taken apart, but after almost a couple hundred thousand miles who knows?

Given the state of #4 and #6 if #3 hadn't failed it was only a matter of time before I'd be doing head gaskets anyway. So glad it failed now instead of in the middle of winter!

That was a quick tear down. From what I have gathered here and on YT the gaskets changed in 98, and that the first two years were more prone to such failure. But at least 300,000+ miles on them, how can you argue with that longevity.:banana:
