What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Pic's or it didn't happen :director:
Emblems look just right.

Fair shout! In-process pics below. I’ll get a pic of the side, before/after, once I’ve had some coffee.

In all, it went smoother than I would have expected. Yes, I had seized bolts on the bottom mount for my front shocks, but heat freed the driver’s side and a breaking bar was the ultimate solution for the passenger side.

Here are the measurement changes, measuring from ground to fender:
Driver Front: 35.25” -> 36.75” (1.5”)
Passenger Front: 36” -> 37” (1”)
Driver Rear: 34.75” -> 37” (2.25”)
Passenger Rear: 35.5” -> 37.5” (2”)

I’ve a full gas tank, so I’m guessing a wee bit of sag is expected, and it’s a far cry better than what I had before.

All in humor.

My OME rears were labeled and different lengths, OME non-adjustable strut driver side had 3/16-1/4"
shim washer between perch and spring to compensate for lean. May have to adjust D/S 5100 perch setting to
eliminate last bit of lean. SOP running Bilstein 6112's same spring length per side.

What tire size are you running? I'll regear in the future and 4.88 is one of my choices. I have 265/75 now and will do 255/85 in the future. Thanks Charlie.
I'm on 265/70-17, which is the same as 265/75-16 for rolling diameter. They are broken in enough that I was able to check cruising RPMs... I used to stick right to 2k RPM at 67-68mph (4.10 gears, indicated speed - I have a speedo healer on there to adjust things). Now I run 2400rpm or maybe a touch higher at the same speed. Still plenty quiet under low loads at that RPM on the freeway. Haven't hit any hills yet, still have a bit more break-in before I do any heavy loads - can't comment much on drivability changes.

That’s very good to know, thanks. Yes, mine were labeled as well, and I made sure to put “A” on the driver/gas tank side and “B” on the passenger side, but it didn’t come with any additional hardware I could see. I’ll keep digging…

Got the hazard switch reinstalled in the bezel. Looks good on the outside:

But inside the kimono, it's a sad situation. The hazard switch mounting tabs are completely gone. I had no choice but to epoxy the switch to the bezel:

I also reinforced one broken tab with sheetmetal doublers and epoxy:

Seeing how this bezel is disintegrating, I decided to treat myself to a full set of all new "wood grain" trim pieces. $600, but better than a car payment :).

Yep, the same upper right clip kept braking on my black trim so I did the same, but used a paper clip bent into a C shape and epoxied back together. Works like a champ.

Yikes! $600? I broke a console bezel clip off when I did my climate unit re-install, but it still hangs in there OK. What I DID do this past weekend was roll over the skin on the back of my upper arm with the creeper wheel when installing steering rack bushings - GDMFSOB that hurt!

5100's with 5 positions I set perch one notch higher on DS. For rear's some use 10mm trim packer.

Well I have been slowly working on the wifey's 2002 Sport for about a year. Rebuilt the upper half of the engine. Rebuilt the rear suspension to include welding in new spring perches. Replaced charcoal canister. Repaired metal evap pipes from the front of the vehicle that were totally rotted. Replaced entire exhaust system. Replaced all the dash lights with LED's. Just completely rebuilt the front end with new everything. Though I was good for a little while until the wife calls me right as I was getting to work to tell me that the vehicle was broke down on the side of a highway off ramp. Not a good place to be. So I borrowed a friends trailer and go up to get her. Seems the tranny decided to leave this earth and completely stopped shifting at all? So Now I am looking for transmission options.

hadnt thought of that, i have a broken clip and need to pull the bezel off in a while to replace radio....what epoxy you two using

Today I tackled the outboarding of my rear shocks. I went a step further and cut off the stock lower shock mounts. It was fairly easy work, just time consuming. I don't have any pics as of yet. Needed to focus on working then pic taking. With the dobinsons C59-210v damn thing sits like 5 feet in the air lol. I hope the coils settle down a bit. Might just pick up some 90lb cement bags and roll with them for a while. So might be looking for different spring again sigh.

Also lost 2 hours of work time as the glass guy would not work on the windshield while the car was on jack stands. So I abliged and helped him set the glass as I would not remove the snorkel. That's pulling the entire fender off sigh. But the dude was cool and said sure! Glass is crystal clear! No more annoying cracks. Just got to put everything back together now.

Next project is figuring out rear limit straps and upper mounting for them. And welding up the front limit strap stuff.

Also had to order extended travel perry parts bump stops.

My back is killing me, I'm tired and sore, but it was a good day.
