what parts do you guys like-big$$ diff between NAPA and Advanced auto-wow

shocks NAPA $118 front for their best -rear $72

advance auto KYB shocks - $80Front / $50 Rear

front brake pads Napa ceramic 41/73*said thier best & $83

Adavnace auto -Semi-metallic $38 /Ceramic $42

seems I could save a few bucks with some advance auto parts - KYB is a good name brand so I have no problem buying those, what do you guys think of wheel bearings? what are the best? and which are junk that won't last?


Where do you guys find aftermarket exhaust ?

that wheel bearing set will probably last longer than the truck itself, I'd go with OEM parts. something you wanna do it once and forget about it.

I've never had any good experience with aftermarket/parts store brake pads, either.

2 seals $55/$24

for each side

I normally buy parts and bring them to the garage I go to

If I wanted to buy everything and return what wasn't used the dealer wants 15% restock fee and I have 10 days to return parts or no go at all

which parts are usually necessary?

Ask the garage you are taking it to what you need then go buy it. dealer will usually tell you what could need to be replaced, mechanic will tell you what is required.

Best way to save money at any auto parts store is to
1. Have a friend let you use his Garage/Shop discount
2. Have your buddy working behind the counter use someone else garage/shop discount.
Example....last year I paid $90 for a Optima 34R battery. It normally list for like $200. Granted I received a $25 rebate, but $115 is still alot less than $200.

Yes, the prices are higher, but in most cases you do get what you paid for.

Yes, Napa is somewhere in-between OEM and Autozone/Advanced. I personally won't even walk in an Autozone anymore unless I'm buying 5 qts of Mobil 1 w/ a M1 filter for $29.99. Besides that one deal, they are the worst auto store around IMO.

get OEM parts at much better prices then

TRDPARTS4U.com has some of the best OEM prices I have seen. Or Toyota Parts Zone.

The hard part it seems is getting the actual part number for what is needed to buy. I used ToyoDIY for that- to see pictures/diagrams and obtain the part numbers.
