I wonder what size those are? I'm on the fence on whether to go with 17s or 18s? I think I'll have a better selection of tires to choose from if I go with 17s.

That picture is from a Titan forum so they are probably 19 or 20s...18s at the smallest.

If I were you, I would go with 17s for the reason you mentioned. Also, it will be lighter, cheaper and the tires will be cheaper too. Unless you just wanted the 18" wheel look.

I'll most likely go with 17s for all the reasons mentioned (makes the most sense; one inch in either direction wont effect the look enough for me to care).
I wish I could say I'll be posting pics soon, but it will be a while. I'm thinking that the billstein 5100 lift set up will come first immediately followed by those wheels and tires. Does 3 grand sound about right (total)?

So was looking through some more wheels for fun since I was bored. Came accross a few I figured you guys would like as much as I do.

So first is AMR's ATX "Ledge" wheel which is not listed on their website surprisingly...

Then Pro Comp has a few I thought were cool:

Those come in a sort of "Smoked chrome" which I honestly think is the right amount of shiny for me.

Those WTX wheels are very clean looking. If I go black, I'll be looking at something similar.
It seems like an the majority of guys on this forum are all about the black. It definitely looks more aggressive and tough. I think I'm going to go against the grain and keep it silver. A lot of has to do with your paint color as well!

So instead of starting a new thread for the same old $&%@ I'm gonna bump one of my older threads.

So I have been in love with the TRD Beadlock rims for the FJ Cruisers, the only problem is that 1.) they're available only in 16", 2.) like every other Toyota Truck rim they're 7.5" wide...

Does no one make something as beautifully simple and elegant as this in a 17" 8-9" wide rim?

I would love to use the Tundra version (they come in a 17 & 18" version) but the bolt pattern is different and I have no clue how I would even get a hold of a blank wheel to drill my own bolt pattern in...

So as you guys may or may not know I despise the giant flashy chrome rims and all the rivets and crap that so many "Truck/SUV" rims seem to have these days.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for new rims to potentionally replace the stock Sport Edition Rims on my '04 4Runner. I love my Sport rims they look great and probably in gunmetal they'd be better, but they're 7" wide and I wanna run a 295 or 305 Toyo tire in the future which I would feel more comfortable on a 8-10" rim.

Seriously though... I've looked at dozens of websites like WheelsNext, TireRack, ect and all I find are these bloody gaudy as hell wheels that need a matching set of chrome grills for my teeth.

I want a nice simple rim similar to the sport rims (maybe 16-18") but in a wider selection than 7" in width, and for the love of god no useless fake rivets and gaudy chrome plating... is that so much to ask for!?

And I beg to differ about best quality. Their finishes are NOTORIOUS for easily flaking and bubbling after a few winters. This even happened on my wife's 2 year old GX470 and Toyota have acknowledged some improper finishing techniques on their wheels.

toyota wheels are fine if youre not in a winter climate. My years working in parts i cant tell you how many flaked/faded wheels and wheel caps ive sold.

I like the Toyota Wheels, I love my Sport Edition rims don't get me wrong. The problem with Toyota wheels is a couple fold.

-Toyota 4Runner & even FJ wheels are too close in terms of offset for larger tires
-Toyota does not make a 6x5.5 wheel that is wider than 7.5" (even the TRD Wheels)

-The TRD Trail wheels I linked earlier are amazing, well designed, and perfect for what I want, but offset, width, and the final clincher that makes me saddest is that they are ONLY availible in 16" for the 6x5.5 pattern. There are 17" & 18" Tundra wheels with the 5 lug, but I don't want to redrill them (would look tacky IMHO for the price spent on them) and I doubt Toyota would send me non-drilled wheels.

I actually chanced upon the Stealth 6's last night, does anyone know if they have meat in the outer rim for drilling/tapping a bead lock?

Those Methods look great, a few too many spokes for the style of wheel I like, but they fit my cosmetic requirements.

As I said before, the requirements I have for wheels is simple, yet apparently difficult to find...

-17-18" Diameter(I know I said 16 in the OP, but I had forgotten my Sport Edition won't fit 16's )
- Anywhere between 8-9" wide rim
- Offset is tricky... I heard -2mm is equivilant to stock wheels +1.25" spacer and -12mm is good for wide rims...
-Either comes with a Beadlock or has enough meat in the outer edge to drill and tap for a beadlock
-Minimal to no chrome (that Dark/Smokey Chrome is exception, its grown on me...), no excessive fake nuts/rivets/whatever
