will either the USA Spec ipod interface(PA11-TOY) or the USA Spec dual auxiliary input(DFTOY) work with the JBL 6 disk SYNTHESIS HU. I have been searching around and it seems hard to find a direct answer regarding the synthesis HU. i really am open to any good ideas as far as interfacing my ipod at a reasonable price, and that it be stock looking.

ya from what i have been reading off of crutchfields site it sounds as if it will work with that HU, but it says its not compatible with rear seat entertainment. i have that. so will it work? i'm cool if the rear seat entertainment doesnt work, i just want my damn ipod to work, fuck people in the back seat!

You have the JBL so don't you have the mini jack plug in the center console? You can plug your ipod directly into that and that will work using the aux function on the HU. When I was looking into the USA Spec adapter they told me that some of the time the stereo wouldn't control the iPod so you would usually end up using the iPod to control the music anyway. The person I was talking to was also saying that the preferred using the ipod as the controller opposed.

There is an aux input in the 2006 models, but not on earlier 4th gens.
i have an 03, and the reason for getting this is to create an aux input. all i need to know is if one of the two of these will work with my 03 jbl synthesis HU with rear seat entertainment(keeping in mind, if need be i'd unhook the rear seat entertainment because the crutchfield site said it would work if you didnt have the rear seat entertainment)
I have an 03 4runner limited V8 4x4 with JBL and rear seat ent. I bought the USA spec adapter and it doesnt work. even the crutchfield tech said it wont work so i had to send it back.
i am goint to now try to buy a stock 06 model that has the aux input in it and see if thats compatible. If anyone has already done it and knows if will work or not let me know. This is the only way i see possible to get the ipod to play in the early 4th gens.

I have the single disk JBL system with rear seat controls and I have the USA Spec aux system working just fine.

Is there a difference between Rear Seat Audio (RSA) and Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE)???

Yup, like I've been saying the USA Spec will work with the RSA. Maybe the crutchfield tech is thinking RSE. The RSE is the drop down DVD option.

I have a 04 with the 6 Disc JBL stereo, I have the older PA10-TOY, it works, I do not know if the RSA works, since I do not have wireless headphones for it and I do not know if the aux input in it works since I installed in the dash, it does let me control my ipod from my stereo and steering wheel!
