man! i am getting pumped for the snow. my wife is ready to kill me because all i have been doing is working on the 4runner and getting it ready for the winter.

:Here's my contribution to this thread.
The gate at Cardiff Fork. Years ago, before they installed the gate just past the parking area for the Falls, you could drive the old mining road all the way up into the bowl.
The hiking elitists managed to get the road closed to motorized vehicles.

Went up to mount Baker today. I thought there maybe a dusting of snow but turned out to be about 3-4" on the trail. Snapped some pics of coarse.

and then this idiot who thought it was a smart idea to try and fallow us... good thing for him just past this as we started the next climb the snow got really deep and powdery and well it stopped us, so we had to turn back and when we did, this is what we found...
he had dug down till he was sitting on the snow and his motor, trans and exhaust started melting it. then it turned to ice... we didnt have a vehicle big enough that was able to get to him to pull him(the fzj80 would of be able to, but he was to far back in the pack and it was an old narrow logging road, where the f350 is stuck is where two roads come together, thats why it so wide). fortunately for him, most of us had shovels and in about 30min we(about 6 of us) were able to dig him out and then help him get turned around... at least the guy who we saw earlier in the day with a 2wd tacoma prerunner was smart enough to try and turn around before he got suck...(we helped him get unstuck and turned the rest of the way around on our way up to get christmas trees

It snowed like crazy all day non stop. That blue tacoma is on a 6" lift and 35's and was buried up to his hood most of the day it seemed.
While not with us one of the other members was somewhere enjoying the snow. He got some pretty damn cool footage, even if it isn't a 4runnerNot sure where he was but it'd say our drive out of the trails back to the main road looks a lot similar, but with maybe a touch more snow. I know most of it for me was spent sideways clutch kicking the top of third gear with the locker on. Lockers, massive snow banks to protect from deep ditches and balding all season tires are sooo much fun.
