ZUK mod? Yes? or No?

There are 3rd gen rear springs on my local CL. The guy said they were 15" tall so I thought they wouldn't work. Has anyone used them before? I would definitely get them if they work. Will also have to get some bump stops as mine are MIA...

I've always heard that 3rd gen springs are the best. You could always cut a coil or two off if they're too long

Yup I am using a brand new updated rear springs from a 3rd gen 4Runner on my 1st 4Runner. Didn't cut any of the springs and it fits perfectly between the upper and lower bump stops. The rear end probably rides like a stock 3rd gen.

I have the stock rear coils that come off my 4th gen, will these work? I just recently bought a 88 pickup. Thought about trying this until I can get some new leafs later on after I take the bed off and build something else for it

So I'm thinking about doing this on my 89 4runner to give it a softer ride. My question is what the option is for the front? From what I understand, this jacks up the back end a bit. Is there something I can do (cheaply) to bring the front end up level?

I just ordered some 3rd gen brand new MOOG springs from WalMart of all places lol. I'll be putting them in next week so we'll see how it goes. I'll post up pics and stuff once i'm done.

Ok. From what I've read, BJ spacers will just lift it up a bit, and cracking the t bars will make the ride stiffer? What happens if I get bigger spacers and relax the t bars?

Don't get any bigger than what the standard BJ spacer size is. Wanna say they are 1.5 inches tall. That doesn't mean it lifts it 1.5.

Depending on companies that sell them. One will list its 1.5 spacer and another 3 spacer and in most cases are the same. One says the height of the spacer. The other says how much lift you gain.

With BJ spacers. It should level out with 3rd gen springs in the rear. Obvious this depends on how worn your t bars are and how new or worn the rear springs you get.

If you don't wanna lift the rear at all and not do any zuk or mods. You can just get BJ spacers for the front and relax the bars back to original height. This. Will maintain your current height and have a softer front end. If the rear is stock. It probably already rides stiff now as the leafs over time have been worn.

I ran BJ spacers without touch the t bars. And ran 3rd springs in the rear with OME shocks all around. The rear was a tad higher but did it intentionally so it level out when I load it with camping gear and tools. Or tow

Just did the 3rd gen runner springs. Like toyotech said its slightly higher in back despite my measurement being just about identical from ground to fender. I got brand new Moog springs from Walmart of all places for $30. Im hoping it will settle a little if it doesnt ill cut 1 coil off. It rides great im pretty happy with it
