Hey Johnny, I see I might not have typed it clear enough before for you to understand, so here are some pictures of what I meant about making the holes longer.

If you slot one upwards and one downwards, you will be able to increase the amount you can move the top bracket up because the slots in the opposite direction add up to more total clearance. I hope it makes more sense now with pictures

The "top bracket" is the smaller one that goes across the top of the battery; and the "base bracket" is the larger one you screw on top the engine bay. The picture is looking at the bolt holes in the bracket straight from the side of it, if that makes sense?

Hopefully this helps you make enough clearance to fit the battery!

Is there anyone who has experience to purchase Odyssey battery ? Best dealer , price and time to buy it?

Wires through Firewall

It is now planning how to run wires through firewall. I found a picture from the forum that someone (see his picture attached below) did the same thing.

A. What guage wire (e.g. 12,….) should I need? I just want to supply power to:
1. Laptops (110V conversion, 100W),
2. LED light (12V, 100W),
3. Small accessories , cell phones, tablets..( 12V max 100W),
4. Electric blanket (12V, 80W)

B. If I drill a hole in the firewall:
5. Will it void the warranty of the vehicle?
6. How to seal the hole securely?
7. Any potential dangers (e.g. water, moisture, carbon monoxide…) leaked into the car compartment

You shouldn't need to drill a hole in the firewall as there are already a few there that you can use.

I assume you are using an aux fuse block to power you accessories.

You'll need the specs for each item you want hookup whether it is an inverter, cigarette lighter, USB port, etc. From there you can you use a gauge chart online with the amps and length of each run to determine what you need for wire.

Also this is where I poked a hole into the empty nipple on the rubber grommet. It comes out right behind the glove box inside the cabin, and there is a good amount of space back there to run the wires where ever you want to go.

Because the rubber is stretchy, it should seal just fine, but if you want, just wrap it with some 3M 88 electrical tape. At that high up on the firewall water should not leak in unless you plan to drive through a lake

Keep in mind when working with low voltage DC, we need to factor in voltage drop due to wire length, so when in doubt go the next size up.

For the stuff you mentioned I think if you went with a roll of 12AWG, you'd be fine.

Fuse Box Location

Most of my power accessories are located inside the vehicle instead of the engine compartment.

Shall I extend ONE wire (e.g. 12V, Guage 6, 100Amp) from the secondary battery to car compartment? Then, I install a fuse box with multiple 12V connections to supply my equipment inside the vehicle?

Anyone install Fuse Box inside engine compartment and extend those 12V connections with multiple wires to vehicle inside through the firewall?

If the the fuse box is rated for a max 100amp, 6 gauge is fine according to that chart.

Does it mean that you have at least 2 wires (12V) running through the firewall? Does the firewall have enough nipple point to pass through?

What were the reasons why you do not install the fuse box inside the vehicle instead?

I have lots of wires passing through the grommet on the driver's side.

It works fine under the hood and I'm happy with it. No reason I didn't install it inside.

I installed mine in the engine bay as it was initially installed to power aux lighting. I have a bunch of wire running in from the relays to the switches. There is plenty of room even on the drivers side.

Fuse Box Location

I intend to extend ONE 12V wire from the engine bay to vehicle compartment. This cable will be routed to the space under Passenger Seat where I can put in a thin plastic box.

I will install the fuse box inside this thin plastic box together with a 110V convertor. Then, all 12V power connections will be extended from this thin plastic box.

Is this safe, any concern? Your view, please.

Are you going to be able to get into this thin plastic box without removing it or having to remove the seat if a fuse blows or you have to add an accessory?

Fuse Box Location

I bought a jumpstart which has a thin form factor. I can store it under the passenger seat.

I intend to use a thin plastic box with the same dimension to house the fuse box, 110V convertor and multiple 12V connection points.

It won't be a fix mount but put it under the passenger seat. See screen shot below.

What do you think?

Nothing to do with your fuse box install, but be careful when unplugging that passenger seat! There is a passenger certification ecu weight sensor in there that I think if you unplug it you might end up with a SRS check light because it needs to be re-calibrated.

I THINK, this would only happen if the battery is connected, so if you unplug the passenger seat after the battery has been disconnected for a while it should be okay, but I never tried it myself to be sure. I just remember reading on here someone doing that and ended up with an SRS check light they couldn't get rid of...

Oh yeah, also be careful about putting the inverter into a plastic box if it is not vented. Most decent sized inverters I've used have fans on them to cool them off, so make sure whatever box you are going to put it in can allow for air circulation
