2014 Trail Rocker Trim

Please let us know how it goes. I also have a 2014 LE and want to switch to the Trail rocker trims. Also, can you list the parts you bought to do this switch? Thanks!

Here is a list of what I used. I currently had the mudguards and wanted them after I changed out the rocker so I ordered them as well. I went with the replacement oem parts instead of the shrockworks trim because I wanted to be able to use factory mudguards and I wanted a finished look even with the doors open.
2014 front trim covers
10-13 Rocker panels
The 2014 SR5/trail front Mudguards part numbers are:
To get the back flare of the rocker to line up with the door trim you will need to get the rear door trim pieces for the 2014 trail/sr5. I did not get them at this point to save money. They come smooth and would need to be painted to match.
Removal of Limited Rocker Trim and Mudguards
Tools Used: 12mm, 10mm & 1/4 Socket Wrench
You will need to remove 6 bolts on each side of the with the 12mm socket. Then use the 10mm socket on the smaller hex head screws. I used the 1/4 inch socket to hold a Philips head screw driver bit for the button head screws on my mudguards. Once all the screws/bolts are out you will need to remove the red clip at the front and the rear plug seen in picture two and three.
Install of Trail Rocker and Mudguards
Tools Used: 12mm, 10mm & 1/4 Socket Wrench
Once everything is off, line up the drain plug in the trail rocker with the hole from where you removed the plug and then snap in clips and replace all screws. Then snap in the trim covers and bolt on on the mudguards. I also replaced all of the 12mm bolts so that there was no open holes for debris to get in.
Does any one know what is used in the hole seen in the below picture? Looks like I need a plug or snap or something.
I think I found what I need. I am taking these metal clips off the limited rocker and mounting them on the trim covers. I should then be able to use the extra button screws to finish fastening the mudguards tomorrow when I install my shrockworks step sliders.

I don't know if you can get the flairs pre-painted or not, but if not that would probley be the biggest hurdle to this "conversion" if you care about that rear flair overhang.

Installed my sliders with my dad on Black Friday. Much better then shopping.
Thanks, Also I bought some 10mm pop rivets for the mudguard the clips I found were not long enough.

Thanks, I ordered the parts from Camel Back Toyota on Nov 20th and received them on the 25th in Kansas City. There was a 64$ shipping fee I am guessing because of the length on the box that the rockers were in.

Ok, I have read through this entire thread and many to make sure I have everything straight.
I ask because I'm trying to determine which Rocky Road sliders to order.
I have a 15 SR5 and emailed Rocky Road but they said they haven't had a 14-15 SR5 in the shop yet for fitment.
So from my understanding the 14-15 rocker trim for both SR5 and Trail is the same. which is the same as the 10-13 Trails. So if I have a 15 SR5 then I should be ordering the Rocky Road Sliders ment for the 10-13 trail. Please let me know if I am correct in my logic?

Why bother? I'm pretty sure it'd look good.
But the main reason IM removing my SR-5 painted rocker trim to the unpainted Trail rocker trim is so you don't see the scuffs caused by my boots when entering and exiting my truck along with better ground clearance by getting my nfabs closer the rockers....

Thanks [MENTION=45752]byrden[/MENTION] and [MENTION=97134]IronManKansas[/MENTION] just installed my trail rockers tonight, your info and pics made it a piece of cake. For kicks I measured the difference in height, depending on the point you go to it was about 3.5 inches higher with trail compared to my LE rocker. I also recently took factory steps off, went from 12" of clearance to over 18" (keep in mind I'm lifted), shrockwork step sliders up next...
Oh and I did put the 14+ front mudflaps on, good stuff, just had to snag one plastic clip off the old rocker for each side, otherwise went on easy as could be.
I'm really glad I went this route over other options.

Ordered the trim pieces from camelback toyota as listed from ironmankansas a few pages back (about $400 with no shipping). It was a bit more than the shrockworks trim, but now I don't have to worry about rust. My stock rocker had tons of scratches from the wife and kids so Indidnt want to have to deal with touching up. I didn't get the small rear trim piece.
I didn't have to pay shipping as they were running a special I guess so there was that.
Will post pics, but it's literally identical as byrden's, my truck is just silver, it was dark and pouring rain outside when I finished. Trimming the small front piece was cake with a pair of snips. I found the key was just to line it up and take a touch more off than you think and it fits like a glove.
One funny thing, when I took the trail trim out of the box, I thought this can't possibly be the right part. I swear I just lost 20lbs off the truck there is that much of a difference in the rockers.
