Your front axle is going to be a bit wider than the rear I think?

The 4.88 is gonna be a bit low but you and I would have differing opinions on that. I do long road trips where having slightly higher gearing is advantageous out on the highway. 4.56 is going to be closer to perfect for 33s. 35s I agree you need the 4.88.

The transmission change will be interesting as well since it has a different ratio than the w59.

Looks like fun though. I'm going through school right now so my mods are mostly on hold for now. I want to keep the ifs and do a flat belly with a relocated gas tank and a tacobox. A 2.5" body lift will let me raise the drivetrain and suck up everything into the rails. Then the gas tank relocation to the rear will take care of that thing hanging down. Then I don't have a truck that has the suspension way out of stock geo that runs a 33 inch tire and my delicate innards can be protected by a plate of metal.

I'm going with the supercharger and a fresh engine when I get to it.

It'll be a few years till I finish engineering school but everyone has to dream.

I actually learned how to do the valve shims from your video as well. Made my truck run 100% better.

Did you go with the KO racing kit for your turbo btw? Just curious. Looks good man.

Yep, it's the KO Racing kit with some of my personal additions and modifications. I was the first one to install it on a 4Runner that I know of (sort of, Kris the owner installed one on his brother's 4Runner at the same time as me, but that was his first). I highly recommend their product, and Kris was very helpful in the order process since I had to get a custom downpipe made by him (the one they offer for the 4Runner kit now) to make everything 100% bolt-on.

I'm loving my Doug Thorley, maybe it gave me 5hp? Sounds better than that awful manifold thats known to crack over time. It's well worth $400.

LCE all the way. DT makes a nice product but they don't know jack about the 3rz imo.

I've had the DT in for 2 years now & no issues. I never researched the LCE because I didn't hear of it until after I bought the DT. I am a regular customer of LCE now & highly recommend them, great customer service.

Definitely vote for LCE here. I never ran an aftermarket header before I turbocharged my truck, but LCE is not too far from where I live...they have an amazing facility, and everything I've purchased from them has been top notch. I have a DT exhaust on my Xterra and while it's fine, fitment was a bit off and it required modification to be 100%.

My 3RZ has already been rebuilt once so if my SC blows it up I'll be getting one of those LCE 3RZ Turbo Long Blocks.:banana:

Ok, great. That's what I've heard before and am seeing everyone put on here too. I'm gonna go with LCE. If you don't mind me asking though, I've also been thinking of re-gearing over supercharging. I really just want a little more juice for the hills and sluggish pick up. 4L when wheelin has been phenomenal but when driving around town I would really like to get more power and have been going the "bolt-on" route. But, I don't think it's gonna quite do what I'm looking for. All that to say, what is the best route to take?

Definitely gears. Get the power band back to factory and give your motor the mechanical advantage. 4.56 would put you back to the right range.

What gears do you have? Mine came with 4:56 from the factory so I'm going to supercharge mine. I already have headers, high flow cat & exhaust. I'm researching CAI too.

Don't bother with CAI. Remove the baffles and either run a snorkel or do the deck plate mod. Cai is really worth a bunch of nothing.

Yea, that's why I'm still researching. I wouldn't pay for a K&N but maybe something cheaper from Injen or E-bay.
I'm just worried that the stock intake isn't good enough for the SC.

Follow my build thread. I'm about to redo my intake but mine is completely sealed, custom, and it uses a amsoil cone filter which does more air volume. Plus I have a snorkel.
