ADVICE PLEASE: Did I Get a Good Deal?????

I am glad you have a new 4Runner. I am also glad that you want peoples opinions. This forumn is a really nice place full of nice and interesting people. Normally the moderator would have shut this off by now in my experience............so if you would please, let's get back to what you like about the Runner...........

A good deal is

I paid 40,000.00 OTD on a 2007 V8 4X4 limited with NAV in California, where Toyotas traditionally aren't discounted much.
List was a little over 43k, if you count incentives I paid around 36k... Tax and fees brought it up to 40k. I'm satisfied I got a good deal... at the least, average for my area.
One advantage to living in the Los Angeles basin is that there are many dealers. I kept negotiating untill a dealer said "I can see how they got to that number, but it doesn't make sense for us to go
there.". I took the deal and am happy with the new truck.
As a side note, I only got the 4Runner fir about 900 less than the Costco price... If anyone is looking to buy, get that price and shop it around. It could get you to the same place quicker

You know, the door at the dealership that you're using for a guideline? Who made you the definition guru? He said on the first line, excluding taxes. How much clearer does someone have to be? Where'd you get your definition of OTD and it's parameters? It's not listed on wikipedia. Give the guy a break! And who are these "MOST PEOPLE"? How many did you query for this statistic? Most people might have been a bit more welcoming to a new member! Most people wouldn't be such an ass to a stranger. If the question was too difficult for you give a civil reply, then you should have moved on to another post! Ya think?

I don't know you, and haven't been a member here long myself, but my opinion of you is not flattering. It's that whole first impression thing. It sounds like you're the only here with "their panites in a knot"!
My OTD price for 2007 V8 Limited 4x4 was $38,900. ( we don't see a lot of 4x2's in Colorado) Sticker was $42,849. We pay 8.1% tax in Denver not to mention dealer fees. Tags are paid 45-90 days later. I imagine they'll be close to $700 for the year. I don't care if anyone thinks I got a good deal or not. The deal is done! My insurance is going to run me about $1200 a year. I can claim my taxes paid at the end of the year so in reality, maybe I didn't pay an actual $3150. Tags can also be deducted. I just would hate to indicate an unaccurate OTD price because maybe you meant OUT MY DOOR! I'd hate to piss anyone off here on the forum because they didn't understand what I was trying to imply.
This is my 4th 4 Runner over the past 15 years. 1991,1998.2005, and my current 2007. I might not be able to tell you the OTD price on any, but I can tell you if the 91 wasn't so great, the next 3 would have been something else.

Well...I mean...if you saved 5000 bucks...then yeah... why wouldn't you consider it a good deal? I paid 22 even after everything here in CA, and well... I felt like I got a much better deal before taxes. It doesn't make sense to me that the state should collect taxes twice on the same vehicle. Blood sucking pigs. But I digress. Mine is an 04 w/36k and it has an extended warranty and 4wd, but I absolutely love it, b/c as far I'm concerned she looks and feels brand new. But for another 6-8k depending on your fees, you GOT a brand new one. New is always nice!

:Seems some of you guys got a better deal than me. :bigok: I purchased my 2007 Limited 4x4 V8 (no NAV option) for approximately $41,000 OTD. I forget what the price I negotiated was before the TTL, but I think it was somewhere around $37000.00.
I remember, though, that it took me nearly 2 months to find exactly what I was looking for, a Titanium Limited 4x4 V8 without Nav, so I was pretty much willing to pay whatever to get it once I found it!
