Anyone updated to NGK Iridium IX plugs or upgraded tranny reservior?

The parts manager @my local trailer shop (Toyota Fanattic) advised me to upgrade these two items (plugs and tranny res.) to pull a heavy travel trailer near my GRVW.

the plugs they advised was NGK's Ix iridiums (no. BKR6EIX-11)
and they just said to get the tranny res upgraded. They didn't do the work so they weren't trying to make a buck!
I own an 05 Limited V8

Any ideas or feedback on the plugs and where/ what to do on the tranny situation?

He's not wrong but... Your V8 comes with plugs that are almost as good as the ones he's suggesting. The new plugs wouldn't hurt anything but I don't think there's much to be gained.

The trans pan upgrade: I haven't heard of a high performance aftermarket trans pan for the A750 trans. That doesn't mean it's not out there. What he's trying to get at is to provide additional cooling for the transmission via a cooler or a pan that provides extra capacity. His point is sound but the V8's come with a supplemental, externally mounted trans cooler already. I don't think it's necessary and I am a huge proponent of adding trans coolers and/or bigger pans etc.

One of the V8 members may say something contrary but I don't recall reading anything to indicate that V8 guys were adding coolers or having problems.
