A Tad off topic but was wondering if anyone uses those jump start power packs and has had experience with them. Some get pretty positive reviews. Was thinking of getting one for emergency back up power. Also curious how long they might hold a charge being stored in a car subject to hot/cold temp swings. Even a new battery can fail at a bad time.
Pros/Cons?
I bought the NOCO Genius Boost GB40 and am very happy with it. I have jumped two cars with it and it worked perfectly each time even when the NOCO only 50% charge left on it. I like that you can cross the leads accidentally and its still safe. Its small and compact and definitely something I would want in my emergency kit. It also charges up my phone/tablet. I do have to remember to take it out every 2 months to recharge it to full power even if it sits idle. The GB40 is rated to jump a v6 but had I to do it again, I would probably get the GB70 for boosting bigger engines and running devices with a higher draw like a small air compressor.
