It turns out that I accidentally connected the new 4WD light wire to the wrong wire, so I fixed that and we were set. Thank you dude!

Thanks Jason, I'm absolutely down, but it might have to be during winter break when I might finally have some time to myself. I have driven a ton of manuals... but driving a stick is totally different when it's your own car. I feel like I have to learn how to drive all over again. My brain still thinks there's an automatic.
I got in my mom's 4Runner and accidentally mashed the brake pedal with my left foot looking for the clutch... lol
So 5-speed wheeling is definitely gonna be interesting, hah.

Nice work!! If that new speedo gear doesn't work out right for you then I suggest looking into the Dakota Digital Re calibrator. I used it on my 2nd gen Tacoma when I swapped in a crawl box and Lefty t-case and it worked like a charm. Was also nice knowing if I ever regeared or went up in tire size I could fix the speedo again no problem.
Thanks for the info, man. I've been contemplating a Dakota Digital speedo calibrator since the 3.91 gear days. The VSS gear I bought is solely so the gear actually touches the output shaft, so if the speeds way off, I'll probably get a calibrator.

I took my driveshaft over to Drivelines, Inc. over here in Mission Viejo. This shop is well renowned, they've even build driveshafts for Jesse James and delivered them on TV.
This is what $180 will get you:
I put it in and immediately went to the testing grounds, AKA a 40 foot tall steep dirt hill with shrubbery and crap all over it.
First, I went as far as I could in 2WD. As soon as the rear wheels actually touched the hill, the tires spun and it was going no further.
Then, I tried out 4LO for the first time...
... well, let's just say I realized that I'd proved my point about halfway up. :lmao:
