In my 08 sport, the 3 LEDs under the needle illuminates the entire speedometer through a lens. I know limited clusters have separate LEDs for the numbers and the needle. You can achieve what you're looking for by using all white LEDs and paint the needle blue.
However, if you're looking for more of a fade (blue center transition to white outer) then Alex will need to crack open the cluster to figure out your options. Blue cellophane might be your friend if you want the fade.
Looks like Alex is tackling the needle color change tonight (pressure applied :hungry
so hopefully he can post his results tomorrow.

Updated update: Currently using a razor blade to scrape the paint off the back of my needles. Lets hope this works (specifically directed to Darkie, if I screw these needles up, I know where you live buddy )

This is too much coincidence my friend. Mine is April 14th. The truck was an advance present for my 50th BDay. LOL small world indeed!
Edit: I was looking at your gauges again and I really love the transition from white numerals in the middle to blue on the edges of the gauges. :thumb3:
The only detail I would love to change as I mentioned already would be to have the needles in blue. Other than that, I think the color combo you inadvertently ended up with is perfect!

Just so you know, the fade I have on the tach is white from 1-3 rpm and then it fades to blue from 3,000 rpm onward. It doesn't fade outwards from the needles, it just fades as the RPMs increase. You'll love what I'm going to do for ya (if you want me to do the mod, of course). You won't be disappointed!

Want to do all in white LED (2004 SR5 std) and am only interested in primary gauges and HVAC control area (not doors, cup holders, no wheel controls, etc.).
I’m hoping you guys can make sure I have the correct list for brightest possible white led lighting - esp. in the LCD area. I have seen a lot of different bulbs discussed. I’m sure I could dig and be 95% right but lots of links are broken/unclear (older ebay etc.) Plus maybe a newer part you’ve heard of or used recently is better than what's currently on this thread discussion.
If one of you guys could put together a suggested parts list or quantities/links assuming 20% overage given my scope with most recent component suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Dingulus, Here is a list of what lights/LEDs you'll need, along with links.
9 of the NEO-3 bulbs (3mm): NeoWedge series LED Lamp Specifications
3 of the NEO-5 bulbs (5mm): NeoWedge series LED Lamp Specifications
About 25-30 of the PLCC-2 LEDs (depending on how many LEDs on your gauges you want to switch): Surface Mount PLCC-2 SMT LEDs
If there is anything else I/we can help you with, don't be afraid to ask!
