So, I'm almost done - Only have a few min here and there so in 2 days I'm about 90% done.
Here's what I got so far.
The Dash - I missed a few LED, mainly one that lights up the RPM gauge top half. The gear selection light up blue, but the back lighting is orange still so i must have missed one there too. BUT, i think i like the look of the backlight since it matches the gauge needles and highlights the selected gear better.
The hot spots in the middle console are not as noticeable at night - I still want to fix them some cuz its more noticeable at dusk. The selection buttons are all white when selected - very bright but the camera didnt capture them very well. I think it turned out well.

Its very similar - Alpine 135 BT - maybe a newer version?
EDIT: Looks like mine is the updated version which added Pandora radio BT
The dash gauges are way easier than the center console IMO - although my big clunky hands make soldering those TINY PLCC-2 LEDs some frustrating work! lol

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. I'm gonna have someone hold them with tweezers.
Did you use wick to remove the old ones? I'm assuming thats the way to go?

Mine is dim during the day. I used the same resistor as the button LEDs and I think if you went to something less restrictive it would be brighter. As it would appear RunninUte has done!
Here's mine which you can compare to RunninUtes brighter display. My display IS brighter than it appears but daytime visibility is hit or miss.

When I desoldered the SMDs I didnt use wick
The solder I used is rosin based which cleans the solder and I'm not concerned about the stock solder being of low quality. I simply tinned the beds with a little new solder and then soldered in the new LEDs. Getting them flat can be more difficult because you really only have 1 tip and you want to get both sides.
What I ended up doing was get first side soldered - then second...then i'd quickly touch each side and gently push down the LED with tweezers to get it to flatten out. Worked out well.
Yeah, I don't know that I'm gonna go too crazy yet as this will be the wifes daily. She won't want me to do too much to make it noisy or diff
I am frankly surprised that there is minimal power mods out for the V8. There should be a MUCH better power band w/ a better tune available. Better headers, move the Cat backwards a bit (or remove/replace with a HFC) - something to give me more!

It's pretty easy to DIY the HVAC controls, at least I think. It's just changing the bulbs. The switches too. The gauges and indicator lights require soldering
There are also a few people on here who do the swaps, one in Oregon i think and [MENTION=63211]emelianenkov[/MENTION] in mass who you can ship your stuff to

Has anyone tried this for the HVAC or is it easier to just tap into a different source for a higher voltage to get the High powered LEDS to work on the HVAC. I want to make the screen brighter. Any suggestions?

I'd just find a 12v source that goes into the hvac harness. The neo bulbs are hard to take apart

You can DIY your own bulbs and use whatever resistor you want, just stick the led in the bulb holder and tack the resistor on the end

Any easy way to go about tapping into a 12v source? Do I just run a jumper to the back of the 4mm LEDs? And is that going to matter since it may contact the 6v contacts on the board?
How about the leds for the indicator arrows. Where do i get those at and what size.
