Any easy way to go about tapping into a 12v source? Do I just run a jumper to the back of the 4mm LEDs? And is that going to matter since it may contact the 6v contacts on the board?

How about the leds for the indicator arrows. Where do i get those at and what size.

And if you move the contacts for the LEDs to the back, they won't contact the 4.7v source.

Use a scotch lock to tap into a marked 12v source from the harness

Has anyone tried this for the HVAC or is it easier to just tap into a different source for a higher voltage to get the High powered LEDS to work on the HVAC. I want to make the screen brighter. Any suggestions?

Im surprise u didnt ask me since i was the first to do the mod for full brightness, u take the leads off the neo4 base, find the pos and neg and solder a foot of extra wire, when installing the bulbs back, its going to be loose so u need to add dome tape on the back to hold it in, someone on this thread i posted a how to, its one of the wires on the harness u can tap for 12v. This should be 12v at acc mode, unless you want to do it at 12v on the on position only.

They're very sensitive and they fail easily with too much heat or prolonged exposure to heat

I was trying to make my own LED HVAC bulbs using the stock housing and LEDs from a LED 194 but I kept killing the LED with the heat.

JUST quick enough to melt the solder and get em into position. Don't keep the iron on too long. How many watts is your iron?

30 watt.

when you put the neo 4 bulbs in, u have to unwind the 2 wires out, then itll sit in the bulb holder a lil loose, use some tape to hold the bulb in place, then find the positive and ground on the bulb itself and use the switched 12v wire to power the light, and use a extra wire to ground to chasis, radio bracket works fine.
