Nothing fancy. I've finally followed in the footsteps of [MENTION=50186]adio3x[/MENTION] and [MENTION=51030]joneseyyy[/MENTION] and got a set of FN Five Stars in matte black. I figured since we have a black SR5 with bronze, a black TE with gray, I'd step up with my black LE with matte black.

I'm either going with the KO2s in the typical 285s or the new 34X10.5R17s. I'm having them test fitted next week so I can figure out which way to go. I'll take pics and maybe put up a poll.

Very cool. Looking forward to seeing it. Would you recommend the Nitto Trail Grapplers? Not sure if you were getting away from that because you want a less aggressive tire or if you didn't like them. Reason I ask is because I may find myself looking at them for my next set of shoes.

Who are you getting tires through?

I really liked the Nittos. They had surprisingly good grip in the PNW rain and I intentionally tried to break them loose a couple of times. Very little road noise for a M/T and they wore nice and evenly. I considered the MTR's but they'll get noisy on you after 10k miles. Realistically, I just don't need that much of an aggressive tread for what I do with the truck. I'm going to miss the aggressive look but I'll get over it. I'm glad the BFGs changed up their sidewalls on the KO2s.

I'm really leaning towards the 34's for several reasons:
1. I like the pizza cutter styling. I think it'll give the truck a pretty unique look.
2. They're lighter than the 285s by 5lbs. Combined with the lighter FN Five Stars, I think I might break the 12.4 MPG average. Not that I really care about fuel economy but it would be nice to have some of it back.

Vancouver Toyota is running a buy 3 get 1 for a $1 right now until the end of the month. So I figured I'd get 4 and have a spare for a buck.

I was going back and forth between the FN Wheels (Dustin) and SCS (Vin) for wheels. There's a rumor that SCS is coming out with the F5s in a 17. Unfortunately, I can't wait for those to come in because of the tire deal that's going on. I would definitely endorse either of those companies because of their customer service and quality. Both of those guys responded super fast with my wheel inquiries. Dustin just happened to have 11 left in stock and Vin is still waiting for his shipment.
 
Have you considered the cooper st maxx? Its what I'm gonna go with. Its a great mix of tire at/mt... I will probably go 285s but was thinking of the 255s as well. I'm going with the st maxx because of their super deep tread (19/32) over the ko2s and their (16.5/32) weight... I think the ko2 was like 4-5 lbs per tire heavier. But it will be nice to compare the two out on some SAR missions or in this winters snow driving training.

Now to test fit the new 34x10.5R17 KO2s. I'll have pics of both the 285s and 34s and get some opinions from my beloved T4R brethren.
 
I wasn't aware of the 34x10.50 sizing being available. Just checked the BFG - holy cow - $367 a piece!

I love the pizza cutter look. I'm running the 255/80 ST Maxx myself. Anxious to see what the 34's look like!

Sweet! You don't have a build thread and I stalked, I mean checked your posts and didn't see any pics. Got any to share?

$367 is MSRP. No one is going to pay that. I think they're available for about $270 locally.
 
Wow 538 posts of good stuff! Glad you are still having fun! Don't back into a stump on a muddy hill man. Breaking out the paint gun this weekend lol.
 
Sweet, Bens truck looked awesome with those wheels, should be pretty nice. may have to move the upper ball joint forward to clear the 34s

Im still a sucker for the konig wheels though....
