Fiamm horn - Why not their other models?

I have been following the 'bad horn' threads & replacements and it seems everyone is 'stuck' on using this one Fiamm horn:

Is there a specific reason for for it? Is it the only one that lines up right?

They have a LOT of different models on their page. They have a 'Heavy Truck' catagory and a couple horns under there. Those seem like they would have a lot more punch that the normal ones, and they do not looks like their size would be a problem.

That one is only 3.5 x 2.8 x 3.3

Good question i went with the el grandes just for the convenience factor... I knew it would work and it was an easy install... Id be interested to see if anyone finds something that packs a bigger punch and is just as easy to install

Yeah, there are many types but I haven't looked under my hood yet to see where/how they could fit.

im similar, i knew it would work, didnt want to get an air compressor and didnt want to worry about replacing a fuse
I bought mine for like 25 bucks a an auto store

Does anyone have a website that has examples (sound clips) of different 'Frequency' or 'Hz'. They seem to offer the horns in a low & high model, just trying to figure out which 'sound' I would want to go with! Thanks!

Fiamm's sound like the "MAXI HORN" ones . They even look the same.

It seems you can really only get volume if you pair a low frequency with a high frequency. Simply having one or the other doesn't really work well IMHO.

Exactly...that's why the pair of Fiamm"El Grande's" frequencies are 405 and 485 and at 130db are plenty loud!Sound real good and I don't work for Fiamm!

Clicked on the link from before, thanks for the reminder I clicked on a number with just the single frequency then the duals, it does seem to really make a difference! That site has a set of duals like the Fiamms @ 400 & 480, but only 115db compared to the 130db of the Fiamms. I guess I will place my order for the Fiamms today!

You should be able to pick up the Fiamms locally at most auto stores I believe. That's another reason they are popular. No waiting for delivery!

I also think the price of the Fiamms were great. The best horn I ever heard was in the my last vehicle...a Mazda CX9. I priced those out and they were 60$ for the pair...and a 160db. Maybe a bit louder then fiamm, but as long as these don't break in a year or two then I may upgrade. Right now they are a hell of a lot better than OEM.
