How To: AEM F/IC-6 Install, Tuning, and Help Thread

I had Injector Dr. do mine - local to me - the old owner was cool and I watched when he did my last few sets - he past since -. But he would check and note ohms reading of coils, then set them up into beakers set fuel pressure, then run them 15 seconds -and note the spray pattern and volume, then pull all the seals, screens off and clean them - ultrasonic cleaner??? - install new seal and screens, test again and note. I had 2 that were about 2ccs less so he ran them longer and retested them andthey were all the same.
It was pretty cool but cost $20 each = $120 no shipping since local. But without testing you can even be sure what a new one is doing. This last set of 3.4s I did I just dropped and picked up the next day with a info sheet.

I met the "Dr. Injector" of Sacramento, I dropped them off since he lives close to me. He really did a great job and knew his stuff. He was the one who gave the idea of changing from a stream pattern to a spray pattern in another vehicle I owned at the time.

The injectors worked perfect after getting them back and he even numbered them to optimize even fuel combustion. Top notch.

Yep that is it. that will be the same place you have to tap for the
S/C as well

You might have already read this in the supercharger thread but be sure you use the highest octane available. For CA, that's 91 but other states have 92 & 93. Takes out a lot of ping and is required by Toyota as part of using the charger (the new kits even came with stickers to remind you).

Other than MTD I don't think anyone has a base tune for the AEM controller yet but definitely ask around. Maybe try PM'ing those who might have the AEM on their rig (check this thread). Or, bring it to a dyno shop for professional tuning, the F/IC-6 should be well-known at most shops because of its popularity.

At WOT most people are shooting for the 12 AFR range.

Tune off the WBO2. Your base map is the one toyota has given you.

Oh wait, do you have anything installed other than the supercharger dunktap? You need a piggyback controller on your 4Runner to do any tuning. Our ECU's cannot be flashed or tuned directly.

Maybe a dumb question, but probably the first of many hehe. I'm looking to purchase the AEM extension harness with the fic, but I see two different part numbers. I have a 96 auto, but AEMs fitment list doesn't show it.
I've tried emailing them, but never got a response.

I'm not sure to be honest, I would call them, but before you do take a look at your ecu and count the number of plugs and pins in each. They should be able to help you from there.

Just had a mistake pointed out on the wiring for the resistor for the cam circuit. The resistor should be on the MAGI+ wire not the MAGO+ wire. I updated the opening post.
