Lexus LS460 HID Projectors Installed

Hey guys,

Sorry for another HID Projector install post. I'm so stoked with how this project turned out, I just had to share it.

Let me start with a big thanks to fellow forum member Jaker, without him I probably wouldn't have done this. He was kind enough to reply to my PM's and answer any questions that I had. On second thought, I wish I had never seen his post, I could have saved a lot of money. Just kidding, this project was worth every penny.

I went with the exact same setup as Jaker did, no suprise there. After reading his post "LS460 Projectors Installed", I decided that this is what I wanted. Caesar and the crew over at Lightwerkz are great at what they do. Here is the link to Caesar's blog of my conversion "Caesar's Blog"

I did not have enough patience nor time to try this install by myself, so I hired out to a local shop.

Those fit even better then my FX45s that Caesar did for me, but I wanted a Bi-Xenon. But I am still super happy.

Looks good and second the output slash cutoff shots.

By the way, I forgot to mention:

Make sure the shop transferred the lower black trim pieces from your old headlight assemblies to the new ones. They don't come with a new pair and must be transferred. A quick way to check is to apply some pressure to the bumper cover just below each headlight assembly. If it buckles, they didn't transfer it.

I made the mistake of not transferring them until I had the bumper cover re-installed. No big deal really, just a little extra work on my part. However, since you had a 3rd party install these, it's worth a quick check.

If you're not sure about how much it should or shouldn't buckle, just compare the bottom of your old headlight assemblies to the pictures on the Lightwerkz blog.

I've had my TLs redone and according to UPS, there are AT MY DOORSTEP (I'm at work now thinking of an excuse to go home now).

I'm very excited (as the OP must be too). Having a great set of lights never gets old! :thumb3:


redone explained (short version): Lightwerkz did the original retro but Lightmodz did a "repair" on them (basically redoing the whole thing). When they were originally delivered, the chrome housing was chipped and the pieces were inside the light assembly. Hi beam solenoids were fried as well. The solenoids were my fault, but the chipped housing was something I discovered afterwards. I had no proof that Lightwerkz or USPS were responsible for the damage. I ask Caesar how much to redo/repair and he basically told me we had to start over. Eff that. I headed over to Lightmodz (lightwerkz ex-employee) and he was totally awesome. Half the price of the retro and with all new parts!! DUH, WINNING!!!! I hold no ill-will toward lightwerkz, they do great work. I just felt I got the shaft. This was my 2nd retro done by Caesar. I expected a discount but got zilch. Anyway, long story, sorry to bore....................
