Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

thanks for chiming in...I'm still debating which setup and the almost $100 in shipping at wheelersoffroad for T1/T12 and 5100's is a bit of a problem for me.

I’ll never buy a thing from wheelers again... shipping is expensive there. When shipping costs are nearly same price as product.... :flipoff:

Those are 255/80/17 cooper st maxx tires. It rides well for a truck. My previous vehicle was a Lexus LS430 so I may be a bit used to a plush ride. It’s not too stiff or harsh and I just did a 1,000 mile road trip on it with no complaints other than needing to get uca

If my calculations are correct, your tires at 255/80 are actually taller than 275/70?

255 x. 8 = 204mm
275 x .7 = 192mm

your front wheel well looks a little tight with the wheel stright (maybe its the angle) so the 275's will actually have a little more space but could be a little more of an issue at full turn due to width. I hadn't considered that configuration because I wanted a fatter tire, but they fill the wheel well nicely.

Look into the dobinsons setup! I have a 2.5”/1.5” lift on mine that I like a lot.

Which Dobinsons springs are these? That is the same exact lift that I am looking for.

Front springs
C59-302 - V6 - Stock front end load, 2.5" lift. 395/395mm, 17mm wire, 586LB

Rear springs
C59-723 - Stock rear end, offset height coils for KDSS leveling. 1.5” lift 420/405mm, 17mm wire, 228LB

I’m also running their twin tube shocks as well.

New tires, new bumper, same suspension. Seems like a lot of people are interested in this size and so was I, so I went with it.

It won’t matter in the long run if you think about it, maybe now though. I was able to put in my T12’s and Bilstein 5100 rears today and they’re such an upgrade from the mushy shot xreas

OME lift

2006 4.7 V8/. Front: 884/nitrocharger sport/1/2in top plate spacer. Rear: OME 895E/nitrocharger sport. Rides great, and wanted to post for those with the V8 who are concerned with the 884’s up front. Tires are stock 265/60/17, next week is payday though!!

I’m going to assume 4x4? Was just wanting to see what mine would look like when I get my fronts in. Also *265/65/17*

Looks good! What tires are on the brain at the moment?

Yes 4x4. As far as tires...most likely 265/70/17. I’m just trying to keep it as clean as possible, until I have another daily driver. I love the KO2, but maybe a little too aggressive and pricey for its needs currently. Hankook dynapro are priced right, and tread life is good I hear. I was also looking at General grabber AT2, as they are a bit more aggressive and price is reasonable.

Dang so my front will be even high, LOL...you have hub to fender measurements front and back?

Seems like bulky/heavy stuff is going to cost more to ship?

Nice thing with Wheelers...they send you candy with your order...not some jesus saves video...

Finally installed my Icon suspension, coming from 5100s and a spacer lift...man what a day/ night difference! I also did like a front end refresh replacing LBJ, LCA bushings, inner and outer tie rods, and front sway bushing. I had to preload the front coilovers quite a bit to get the ride height leveled since I have a bumper and winch (May go to 700lb springs after I get aftermarket skids). Measuring from the bottom of the frame sliders the rears are 19.5" and the fronts are at 19.25" after springs settled some, I'm fine with the slight front rake (I initially measured for 19.5" in the front too).

That's my next size tire...34" right? How hard was it to fit them as far as rubbing goes?

Not as hard as I thought at first. I really didn't have to do too much. I even ordered a body lift in anticipation for moving to 305's or 285/75's.
I didn't install it though, because I wanted to do the better thing and I was inspired by some other users running larger sizes without the BL...
Long story short, trim some plastic, hammer the pinch welds (I didn't even hammer them completely flat), and obviously BMC.
The tires don't even come close to the 33.89" like they're supposed to be though, but definitely over 33". But my old 265's didn't come close to 31.6" either....
Anyway, slight rubbing at full flex still so I'll give it a little more work. That plus getting an alignment to crank the caster and leveling the front out a little bit should do the trick.
Sorry if I rambled, hope that helped.
