Limited Edition Mod Thread

Hey everyone, just picked up my 2015 Limited a week ago and been busy swappping my gear from the trail edition i traded in. So far i have added: daystar 2.5/1.5 lift, trd pro wheels mounted to 265/70/17 duratracs, gobi stealth roof rack with rigid rds light bar, 6” rigid rear spot lights, weathertech floor mats, all lights changed to leds, headlights changed to HIDS, and laminex for the fogs, avs vent visors, toyota bug deflector and removed the running boards. Next up will be getting rid of all the chrome, Just have to make a decision if i go vinyl or plastidip for that.

And for anyone wondering why i traded my trail for a limited it was mainly for the full time 4 wheel drive.

I like it . I hope to be following your foot steps soon. I also want to remove the chrome, but most likely with a pro front end [emoji12]

Hi all. Took a test drive in a 2015 Limited today and was wondering if anyone knew what kind of mod former owner was going for on front fascia? Just beneath passenger side fog light it's a rectangular cut out with mesh backing. Also bolted on a little funky at wheel well.

Overall clean just not sure about mystery mod. Any ideas appreciated.

Ghetto mods

My Limited along with many other T4R's owners have had issues with the front bumper pulling away near the the headlight. Maybe this was his attempt on rectifying the problem?

Our 14 LE has the chrome boards and with the rocker panel you only have maybe 2-3 inches to put your toes on and get into the truck. On my 18 LE, I removed the LE rockers and put the trail rockers with the little molding front cap and new mud flaps on with the trail running boards. Much nicer step into the truck and I like how the black offset on the silver truck.

I'd like to do this mod. Where did you get the trail rockers from and can you share a bit more about what you did to mod the front cap?

Hi,

Here are some earlier posts on this mod:

Front cap:

Get a heat gun, warm the front cap and gently pull off. You will have to remove the pink clip to snap the trail cap on as seen in the pic. Once you slap on the trail rocker cap, nothing else needs done.

And for the grocery list of parts this post:

I got everything from spark parts. I believe someone else mentioned you could get the parts for slightly less than sparks. The important thing...I listed the par numbers. So you can shop it around.

Good luck

Wow, that is way more expensive then I was expecting! Thanks for the detailed list.

I'm planning to add some sliders to replace the auto running boards. How bad would it look if I just took the rocker off completely? Anybody got pics with no rocker and sliders added?

This is the best one I have w/o the limited rockers on and just before I put on the trail rockers.

Front End Conversion Complete.

Finished my front bumper Limited to a TRD Pro conversion this past weekend. I'm real happy with the end results. Old to New pictures below.

Here’s my 2014 Blizzard Pearl. So far some basic mods: Daystar Level, SCS wheels with KO2’s, TRD grilles, some plasti dip, Full LED conversion of all lighting, Canadian cargo liner and husky liners inside. Thinking of getting a roof rack next.

dktxt4r, wow that looks awesome! I'm just starting the swap myself and have a couple of questions...

Were you able to use the bumper mounting brackets from the LE bumper on the new one?

Where did you get the new bumper? I found an unpainted one on ebay that seems like it would work, but could be sketchy...

Thanks,

Thanks,

Which bracket are you referring to? There's a plastic piece that runs along the bottom side of the head lamps that don't need to be swapped out. The one's at the bottom front of the head lamps need to be swapped. See photo below circled in red.

There was a forum member selling his trail front bumper because he purchased a full steel aftermarket front end. He gave me all the parts I needed for the front bumper swap. I took it to a local shop to paint and it cost me $480. If you can find a front end with the same paint color, you'll end up saving a lot of money.

I also plastidipped the lower valence in black. I have a C4 fab low pro bumper on order so it will be going on when it arrives.

*EDIT additional info

You're also going to need to swap out several other pieces in the front bumper to do the conversion. You can reference 2nd Chance thread for everything you're going to need for the conversion. His build thread gave me the info and confidence to do this myself.

I removed the LE rocker panels and installed the N-Fab Predator Pro steps.

I had no rockers for about 3 months until I was able to cut the rockers. I used Antman's instructions as a guideline.

It didn't look too bad without rockers at all but if you're willing to cut the rockers, I feel like it improves the look a lot.

I documented my process with pictures. Hoping to put that all together and post sooner rather than later if it would help others who are thinking about doing it.

My next project is to do the Antman rocker mod. With this being done, are you able to mount any trail edition rock sliders? Is it the height of the Limited rocker trim that prevents rock sliders from bolting on?

she looks awesome. so what suspension and wheel/tire setup do you have? i'm guessing stock xreas with trd pro/275's?

Stock X-Reas with TRD Pro 265's. Working my way to upgrade the suspension when the funds allow or when x-reas craps out. I would like to lift it a couple inches eventually but haven't researched enough yet on best setup for me.

awesome, hopefully i'll be following your footsteps soon (bumper, wheels, tires). i'll most likely add some spacer kit with the oem xreas until i'm ready to swap them out. :reddance:
