Look what I ordered today!

Ok. Here are the pictures. They probably aren't that good. I took them quickly and the sun was in a bad position. I'll try to tell you what each one is. Just ask if you have any questions.

This shows the cover that I was talking about and also shows the room that I have left. I never use it though.

This one shows how you can barley see the amp from behind. It also shows where it is mounted.

This one shows the wires and how clean it is. It also shows about how much speaker wire you will need for your subs.

This one shows the RCA. They only used one for this amp.

This one shows the power wire (blue) and the ground (silver/ white). It is grounded to some factory bolt.

This shows the power wire on the right and the RCA and remote turn on going to the left. It also shows how it is under the carpet. I'm pretty sure that they didn't have to cut the carpet.

This one shows the other side of the amp where the speaker wire, power wire, ground, and remote turn on plug in. It also shows another angle of the location of the amp.

This is a closer up picture that shows the items listed in the previous picture. It also shows the fuses.

This picture shows the left side of the rear seats. This is where the RCA and remote turn on are ran. The shop used the opening in the carpet where the jack is. It also shows the piece that can be removed near the door to run wire under (far left).

Most of these pictures are taken with the bottom half of the seats folded all the way up and the top half folded as far to the front as they go.

Looks good Clem. Just wondering- Did you put in sound deadener and how much? Also wondering why you don' t like dynamat (earlier post said you wouldn' t use it)? I've used a few different brands over the years and I prefer it to some of the cheaper wanna be's. I suppose I should take some more pics of my stuff so I can show it all.

I didn't put sound deadner down. I really wanted to, but my funds would not allow me to. .

I'm not knocking Dynamat. It does it job. I think there are some better products, but they cost more. I also think that there are cheaper products that do about the same.

Raammat BXT(probably the best bang for your buck) and Damplifier Pro made by SecondSkin(I've heard this is the best stuff you can buy).

Yea I saw that earlier, its nasty.

Anyway I took a day off from work to meet the UPS man who brought me some goodies.

I got the 5 channel alpine amp and the rear coaxials.

I figured WTF and decided to remove one door panel to see what it was like.

Took me about 45min but I definitely know what to do next time.

Interestingly, all the clips are replaceable so if one breaks I can simply get them for 25 cents at the dealership..read that somewhere.

Little concerned about speaker grille in the rear door. Crutchfield says that 6in speakers dont clear the grille. There is plenty of room in the door however.

They said to use a heat gun/hairdryer to bend the speaker grille outward.

Does anyone have any experience with that? Or any better recomendations?

I should receive the rest of the packages by next Wednesday. I ordered 9ft of 4ga power cable along with some brackets from Crutchfield.

When my iPhone ends tonight on eBay Ill get the 7" Kenwood DDX712. I decided to go with the bigger screen for a liittle bit more money..I think I will be happier in the end. This should all go in next week.

Lastly, still trying to decide where/how to run the power,RCA, and speaker cables.

If anyone could lmk where to run each that would be great.

Can the RCA's be ran next to the speaker wire....I remember reading somewhere earlier in this thread that that cant happen.

So Im really trying to decide how to run the speaker cable...the Power Cable is going down the driver side for sure.

Any recommendations would be great!

I'll get more pics taken when it quits raining, so it could be a few days. I've still got a few things I want to do cosmetically. Just because, so maybe if I have time I'll work on it this weekend and take some pics of that too- if the "honey do" list isn't too long this weekend.

As far as using a heat gun on the grills- PROCEED WITH CAUTION! If you are going to try it make sure you heat the grill evenly, otherwise you'll end up with some holes that stretch further than others and it looks nasty. I would stay away from it if I were you unless you have some extra grills to practice on first. Or else have a shop do that part of the install for you. Door speakers are usually pretty cheap to have put in.

My dad is super resourceful, we will come up with something without totally ruining them!

How hard do your subs hit. Although mine arent W7s and they dont have a 1k watt amp...my results should be somewhat similar to yours.

How bad does your car flex?

I suppose while I'm taking some pics I should break out the video camera too. The W7s slam. JL has a customer for life in me. Of all the stuff I've owned and friends have had over the years, JL gets it right every time. But I suppose just like anything else it comes down to personal taste.

One things for sure, from your original post to what you finally got you will be happy. Just wish I could help with the install.

Lastly, when my wallet wakes up from the dead, Im going to make something to cover the Subs so that when I do put shit in the trunk, I dont have to worry about in getting in the way!

There should be enough room on the box to fit the other amp also.

I'll sum up the way to run wire from that website:
1. Run power cable under plastic molding.
2. Run remote turn on wire with power wire.
3. Run RCAs on the other side of the car.

And..I dont want to mount the speaker amp on the box because when I take the box out for cargo room, I will lose all sound not only the subs. I can fit it in the holder in the right side of the trunk i hope so at least!

An alternative to running wires down both sides of the car is to run power and remote down the bottom of the doors and the rca's over the doors. Sufficient separation and you're only working on one side. Just a thought.

good call, I know that I can certainly do that on the driver side. ill have to take a look on the passenger side to see how easy it will be to get wires from the HU underneath and behind the glove box to the back of the truck, your idea might be a life saver!

If you do mount the speaker amp in that little area make sure it does not get too hot. I doubt it will.

I'm not quite sure about the speaker wire. I know that for the subs it is no big deal, as you can see in my pictures.

I cannot attest to running speaker wire for the two sets of speakers.

It's not hard to get it down the passenger side, but all in all it's about the same amount of work I suppose.
