Probably. Does it affect the length of the RCAs? How do you run it back down when you get to the front? Through the A pillar?

Edit: Maybe I read that wrong. Are you talking about running the RCAs in the head panel or what ever you call it?
 
I ran the RCA's up the A pillar and along the edge of the headliner over the doors and then back down in front of the rear quarter window. I did it this way because I would have been a bit short with the RCA's I bought if I had went down the passenger side since I mounted my amp on the drivers side. I want to say that I got 20' JL RCA's.

To OP-Woops, I guess 4 Meters is going to be too short. Quite suprising.
 
If you only got 4 meters you could run it down the center under the center console and the carpet. The only problem with that is that someone my step on it and crush it and cause some problems, however I've done it before and been just fine also.

yea bigrupp i have been talking to airbur about running the RCAs and speaker wire under the center console and under the rug.

how do you get underneath the rug after removing the center console?

is it possible to do so without removing seats etc?

No, just been doin this stuff for a long time. I'm that guy that all the friends call for computer, electronics and audio stuff. Really enjoy doing the car audio stuff though. If I weren't married and didn't have my wife telling me no I would probably be broke from putting stuff into my vehicles.
 
im real good with PCs also, first endeavor into car audio however.

any ideas on running speaker and rca wire under carpet through center console?

You won't have to remove the front seat, but it would be much easier to remove the rear. From there you can do a few things roll the carpet forward and reach up to grab the RCA's from the center console. I've even used a wire hanger and ran it up under the carpet to the center console and pulled it through with the hanger. I suppose it depends on how far you want to take stuff apart. If you are going to take out seats and stuff though I would spend the extra hundred and some dollars to dynamat it. Of course, since your a student I understand that money is an issue.
 
so the carpet rolls forward from the point just below the rear seats?

there is a cover that is held on with 2 bolts...is that the point that the carpet rolls forward?

removing the rear seats shouldnt be that bad anyway.

lastly how do you recommend i run the speaker wire.

I plan on running the RCA's through the center console under the rug to the back.

I plan on running the speaker wire through the center of the car branching off for the rear and front speakers.

For the fronts i will run them all the way to the HU then out under the gauges and under the glove box.

is that the most efficient way for the front or is there an easier alternative?

Something else you may want to think about doing since you want to save on space and have room for both amps and stuff would be a false floor. Then if you wanted to remove your box for cargo all you would have to disconnect would be the speaker wire to the box instead of all the other stuff too. Just a thought.

Yeah, the carpet stops under that cover, unless something changed since the 04. The rear seats are some of the easiest I have ever removed from a vehicle. And you might as well run the speaker wire back up through the middle since your already planning on working in the area with the RCA's anyways. Damn, I wish you were in South Dakota, cause I wanna help with this install.:D
 
Well, the components are going to have to wait a little while. I dropped over 4500 on what I got in there now, so the wifey would probably remove my testicles if I tried to do it right now.
I've got some leds and stuff that I'm gonna put in. I'm going to make a plexiglass deal with JL on it for the corner of the mount that the amp is on to fill up the empty space. Just haven't had a whole lot of time to put into it lately, but I need to make time. I made sure that the wiring kit and stuff is ready for another amp so when I do upgrade the speakers it's good to go. Maybe in another month or two if I take On call duty at work I can stash enough cash for it.

When I got my new HU, bought it from Crutchfield, it came with a wiring harness. I had to unplug the existing HU from the car's harness then plug in the new wiring harness for the new HU and then crimp the wires from the wiring harness to the HU.
