max headroom - manual vs power seats

Since my last post on headroom a few weeks ago, I'm still 6'5" with a long torso, and trying to maximize headroom before pulling the trigger. No moonroof for sure. My next question for those who've sat in several SR5 configurations:

Is there more total possible headroom in the 8-way power or manually adjustable seats? Which seat goes lower?

I understand that the 8-way power seats are more "adjustable", but also hear theories about power seat motors taking up valuable space. I'm not much interested in theories here, just real-world max headroom. I need to fit, or there is no 4 runner in my future. thanks!

I've driven both with power and manual seats, several times, and I didn't notice any difference. I am nearly 6'3, so you are considerably taller. I did notice that the emergency brake hits my shin and that is quite annoying... still haven't pulled the trigger yet though.

Can you find one without a moon roof? My dealer did a search and said that he could not locate one within 500 miles of Seattle. I am 6’6” and would love to be able to sit upright for a change.

I have the eight way and my head rubs getting in and out. This has been my only complaint about the 5th gen. There are not many design team members over 6 foot tall in Japan.
The 8 way allows for a comfortable driving position free of rub, but I am in full gansta' recline mode. Worth it to me.

Just get a land cruiser. you'll fit in there.

Bearshrimp, there's one in Coos Bay without a moonroof, 306 miles from Seattle. Like you, I had dealers in both Oregon and Washington tell me that there wasn't a single SR5 available anywhere in the Northwest without a moonroof ...
