So it looks like the CTHome T9 head unit is out, waiting for reviews.

So, got mine installed, but came across some weird issues. Haven't gotten much help to figure them out, so maybe someone here knows.

Radio has worked fine after its one glitch of the volume going up and down on it's own but not showing the volume slider on the screen and it just kept doing that the whole time till I parked at my destination.

Now, the real kicker. The car keeps thinking there is a power draw and its beeping at me when I get out. After a few seconds it will let me lock it. But this started after the install. Anyone have an idea what I can do to fix this? I am about ready to rip it back out and put the stock one back in.

There wasn’t a link that I’m aware of. You have to talk to the guy that builds the kits for people on the Facebook group. He did a couple for those models.

I’ll try to find the link to the fb post.

Any of you early 5th gen owners had enough time with the unit to give a review? The FB group has been showing a lot of folks stuck on the boot screen with "Toyota" logo and/or steering controls not working. I have a 2010 SR5 and hope to get this unit once all the bugs are worked out. Please share.
 
It was for me if you purchase from CTH. Some of the owners or managers of CTH are active on the T9 Facebook page and are quick to help resolve issues. I would suggest that you be tech savvy to buy this unit. Be open to fixing bugs, or troubleshooting. The FaceBook page has been a great resource and it's a community where we all help each other out. I won't lie, after the first day or two I thought about returning it, but now 4 months in I love it! I have had to pull it out 3 times now, but it only takes about 2 minutes to get it out. I've since added a T-Mobile prepaid SIM card which is great! The only thing I use Apple CarPlay for is texting and making phone calls (The T9 doesn't read texts to you). I personally haven't had any issues with the unit getting stuck at the Toyota logo, however I have really not installed any apps other than a weather app, Waze and SiriusXM as well as a microphone booster app. I'm not sure if the folks having issues are the ones that have loaded all kinds of Apps. Oh and I recommend the skin, Agama. That was a game changer as well.

I wonder how often this thing "phones home" after you connect it to your phone... that has all of your personal information stored on it.

I just use wired car play. I haven't connected to it with Bluetooth and it doesn't have any of my contacts loaded.
 
stock radio w/o navigation

I currently have the stock radio (without navigation) in my 2010 Trail Edition, will the 'T9' unit fit in my dash? I've looked all over and can't get a straight answer. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Yes, but I don't believe these have compatibility with the 2010-2013 models.
 
Join the 'CTH T9 4Runner' Facebook page. Make sure you order from Sevag Merdinian (PM him for coupon codes and links) he gives the best customer service.
