is it worth getting the t9 now or wait til t10 comes out, if ever?
So it looks like the CTHome T9 head unit is out, waiting for reviews.

I've been wondering this as well. Seems like there was already a couple iterations of this head unit, it would make sense if they release a new one. If anyone has info on this, let us know!

Pulled the T9 this morning and found a small 2 pin blue wire connector that were not connected. Connected them and the Canbus is working perfectly. Ran through the whole radio and it looks like it's running 100%.
Now, onto Torque Pro. I got the OBD2 Bluetooth from Rhino and plugged it in, turned it on... then on the T9 I hit the Bluetooth app. Search, it finds the OBD2, touch and hold it, it pops up with a window saying OK - OBD2 - CANCEL i hit OK, and get the message "Pairing Successful". I then go to Torque Pro, go into settings to select the BOD2 scanner... but does not find it.
I tried to remove the OBD2 and pair about 4 times. It will not connect to Torque even though it says it's Paired int he Bluetooth app.
Also tried hitting OBD2 when the window appears instead of OK, but that comes up as "pairing unsuccessful"
Ideas?

t9 Color?
anybody know what color trim to purchase?
I have a Silver Limited, 2019 - and the trim colors offered are "Silver", "Dark Silver" and "Black"
It looks like my trim is the perfect blend of the Silver and Dark Silver mixed together - worried silver is too light and dark silver is too dark.
Any recommendations or photos folks can share?

Rhino only has the Dark Silver now so thats what I had to get. When I asked about the regular silver they said the manufacturer stopped producing those because the Dark Silver matches better.
Of course when I got it and installed it, you can definitely see the color difference, the regular Silver would be the color match to my '16 SR5, not the Dark Silver.

they actually put the silver back in stock, but of course it looks too light....anybody install either and have images they can share?

Mike5, Were you able to get your steering wheel controls working on the 2013? What factory unit did you start with?
So I have the volume and back/next and call hangup working. Mode switches between sources and the factory voice command button mutes.
Factory unit was the NAV.
Under Extra Settings, Model Choose I have Raise / Toyota / 10-14 Prado / Public. I haven’t messed around with others for a better match. When I got this to work the back/next buttons were backwards. I think it’s called Swap steering past and next key that you gotta turn on which fixes it.
Anyway this is where I’ve stopped.

I have a 2011 SR5 with the base radio (no touchscreen, nav, JBL, etc). I tried the T8 but they didn’t have the correct adapters for my vehicle so I ended up returning it. I see that CTH seems to have a T9 config for my vehicle, but it’s android 8 and I haven’t seen recent reviews with that. Rhino is claiming to have android 10 on theirs now. I reached out to them, but haven’t heard back yet.

Anyone having issues getting CarPlay to work? Unit all powered up. No CarPlay displaying via wired or Bluetooth.

Join the "CTH T9 4Runner Headunit Owners" group on Facebook. There are tons of posts on how to get Carplay configured and working.

For the few Android Auto users out there... For anyone like me who has been using a third party dongle for Android Auto on their T9, I'm happy to report that you don't need the dongle. Kinda feel dumb that I didn't know this app was out there, but install Headunit Reloaded. It works really well. I haven't been able to get Android Auto to consistently work wirelessly yet, but connecting using the usb works flawlessly. Plus, and this is a big plus, Headunit Reloaded (aka HUR) also lets you adjust the resolution a lot higher for AA. I set it to 1920x1080 and it updates the page layout which makes Android Auto look so much better. See my pic below:
