My guess is that your insurance company will declare it totaled. It looks to be pretty bent up along the upper sides and roof area. I guess it all really depends upon the cost to fix it compared to the vehicle's value. But that type of damage is usually very expensive to repair.

BTW, I like what you did with your Sport wheels. Do you have any other pics of them?

Also, did the rollover rip off the roof rack, or you just didn't have one on there in the first place?

Got call from insurance said it more than likely going to be totaled.Yes I do have Gap insurance .Think Im going to save some money first then pick up another used 4th gen runner latter...unless the new 5 gen grows on me.Then who knows

If I'm not mistaking when an insurance company declare's it totaled, you have the option of buying it back for a certain price?
That way you can part it out and sometimes come out ahead. I could be wrong though.

Btw can you sneak back there and take out those rear head rests, I'll buy them from you, i doubt they will notice!

The option to buy back the salvage depends on where you live.

Here in Illinois, for example, unless your vehicle is 9 model years or older, the insurance company is required to keep the salvage (state law).

Your pics are exactly the reason I bought my 2007 V8 Sport with side air bags and air curtain! Getting hit on the side in a Civic or Accord, and especially on a Motorcycle, I have no doubt there would be more damage, both personal and vehicular.

Get well and enjoy your upcoming new vehicle, most probably another 4Runner and be glad you're alive.

So if that was an '08 you had side airbags and curtain airbags. Did the side ones deploy also? Did those help out too?

Only side curtain bags deployed ,both sides.Got hit on right rear so now wondering when does the side air bag deploy.Guess maybe what part of the side gets hit .Front door rear door?Good question.

thats me uneek, my 96 base 4runner was hit and rolled 4 times, since the hit and run driver ran 2 stop lights on foothill blvd and 23rd ave , coming from e14, well now u know i stay in oakland. my windshield broke but the broadway mirror i had 400mm was blocking it from caving in the car, one of the side trunk window broke, but it held in one piece cause of tint, fell inside the cargo. happen on 12/221/07
