Ok, so I've finally pulled the trigger on messing around with my 04 4R. I ordered a Toytec 3" spacer lift w/ coils in the rear. Installed it and couldn't be happier, but noticed my shocks are now too short in rear/too compressed in front, so new shocks are at the top of the buy list. pics before and after.

Completely stock with ugly pinstripes.

Removed pinstripes and added:
3" Toytec spacer lift
Sport hood
Spidertrax wheel spacers

Bought a set of FJ wheels and figured I'd give it a shot at painting them following the how-to online. Now i'm contemplating powdercoat after i found one that will PC all 5 for cheaper than the others i've spoken to. Soon as they're done, new, beefier tires. i've read that 285/70 will require some mods to the body mounts. Is this true? i was contemplating 285/70 Bridgestone Revo2s. I need some experienced input here, otherwise i'll settle for 265/70s.

Also purchased:
Pioneer T-1809 head unit
OEM 06+ LED tail lights
OEM 06+ head lights-Gonna black out the headlights and install an HID kit before i put em on. Stay tuned...

Okay, so after much thought, I've decided to upgrade to an OME setup. I have 884 coils paired with 90000 shocks up front and toytec flex coils with 60020 shocks in the rear. I'll post pics as soon as it's put in.
Also powder coated the FJ wheels satin black. I'm mounting some 33" terra grapplers as soon as the lift is in. More pics to come.

looks good man, what did the PC cost ya per wheel? Go with 285/70's you will be fine, might have to move the front fender liner forward. I run 285/75r16 with no probs, little rubbing, but since u have spacers already your good. Where at in laud do u live? I used to live on the boca/delray line.

Thanks, man. It cost me about 70 a wheel. The 285/70 terra grapplers are at the tire shop payed for. Im just waiting to put this OME lift in first. I live in plantation, btw.

Cool man, I used to live off federal hwy right on the boca/delray line. miss the weather and the night life, not the cost of living Wheels look good man, were you just wanting a 2nd set? You emailed me on 120 about my TRD's I think.

Yeah, it does cost a grip to live in some places, but where else can you have summer all year long and the beach right down the street?!!? I've always loved the look of those TRDs and I'd like to get a second set right now while I have the opportunity. I've got my heart set on an FJ for my next ride, so they would work well into my plans... Insert evil laughter here.

Sir, I want em. But the timing is bad. I just dropped a grip of cash on tires and some other nonsense, so if you feel very strongly about them going to a good home, hold onto them for a month or two, lol.

Ok. A little update here. Put in the OME setup and I am happy as a pig in ****. Got my rims wrapped in TGs.

And mounted on the 4r

Need to give her a nice wash and wax so I can slap on my Loadwarrior rack and westin bull bar. I'm considering ditching both to start up a fund for a demello front bumper. Also been considering a 4crawler 1.5" BL. Next
on the list is hids for the 06+ headlights I have sitting around. More to come...

Where did you find the sport hood? Is it an aftermarket and, if so, did you buy pre-painted? I'm looking to swap my black SR5 hood for a black sport hood and have been wondering about the quality of an aftermarket hood.

It's a factory hood. I lucked out and found one at a junker's. The 4r I pulled it off had side damage. I dunno much about aftermarket pieces, so I can't chime in on that.

:thumb3: thanks man. I'm happy with the way it looks. Next set of mods are smaller items. HID my 06 head lights, tints, maybe satoshi mod an 06+ grille. I'm gonna put some cash aside to pick up a demello front bumper when I'm ready.
Can somebody give me the pros and cons of a 4crawler BL? I'd like to nab one up to be able to fit 35s in the future, but I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into when/if I do bump up to 35s. I know it'll require some major cutting/trimming, trimming body mounts, and re-gearing.

Colormatched my front and rear emblems. Simple process. Scuff up. Primer. Light wet sand. Spray color. Bada bing. It's not an EXACT match as professionally painting, but good enough for me. May need to be polished down and waxed. Going to go get my silver inserts (front and rear bumpers) painted in a few weeks-might ask painter to paint emblems to get a perfect match. I dunno.

Took a shot next to a stock 4r at my office lot.

Thanks. :thumb3: they're 1.25" Spidertraxx spacers and I have no issues with them. They give it a nice mean stance. Only rubbing is minimal on the small triangular piece at the front bottom of the fender liners. Gonna chop those off as soon as I get a free moment.

I'm considering swapping out for OME and want to make sure they still lift sufficiently after an aftermarket bumper. I'm considering the 885 front coils, 895 rears. If it ends up somewhere close to your height, I'm fine with it. What size tires are those?

Yup. Just an OME lift. I'm sure it'll stay lifted. I've seen a few members here with bumpers and OME. They use the 885 or 886 coils. Research around to make sure. The tires are 285/70 terra grapplers.

Any plans to blackout your headlights? You should, we have similar looking rigs, I always thought it would look good...
