Wassup Guys & Gals,

I would like to order a pair of TE headlights for my 2012 T4R SR5 but the seller from ebay and my local Toyota dealer said that TE headlights are not interchangable with the Limited and SR5, is that true? Please chime in cause I see alot of members here ordering a pair of TE headlights for their SR5 or Limited.

false. all headlights are the same, just look different. consider doing them yourself and saving money. very easy DIY.

Yes, but it will be a challenge for me cause i'm not familiar with the bumper removal but i'll figure it out when the lights get here. Also, thanks for the quick response.

If you know how to use a screw driver and a wrench you'll have no problem switching them out yourself. Just a wild guess, but I'd reckon the dealer will charge you close to (if not more than) $300 to do the swap.

Yes, if they were to do the job I would be looking at $350.

the price for the install as well as the price to purchase TE headlights are both ridiculous. It is very easy to take the headlights apart, paint your chrome piece black, and put them back together. And if you get new headlights you'll have to take the bumper cover off anyway, which is also extremely easy. DIY FTW

IMO, kinda depends on what you're doing, and what your skills are. Jesse's skill levels and mine are different. I don't want to bake the headlight apart and back together, so buying TE lights was the best for me.

Now, if you're retrofitting projectors anyway, AND DIY'ing, the lights will have to come apart anyway (as Jesse did).

Do remember; from the time you start, by pulling off the bumper, etc., to the time you finish, your truck is pretty much OOB.

If you're retrofitting, and outsourcing as I did, the retrofitter can use TE lights, or paint them for you in the process.

And, regarding front bumper removal; again, depends on your skill level. To those who have done it - ah! piece of cake. To those who have not, with average Wrenching Abilities (me) it's a bit of a task. A helper is nice.

Thanks philsey, yes you are right on that, Jesse's skill levels and yours are different, thats why alot of us here turn to you guys for advise. Most likely I will just purchase the TE and install them and later on down the road i'll probably do my own retrofitting when I decide what projectors to go with. As for the bumper removal, i've removed bumpers before so I shouldn't have any problems on that as well.
