I put pretty much everything back together tonight.. Just waiting to mount the intercooler pump and wire it up after I get the two hose bends and connectors that I ordered. Then fill it with coolant and hopefully go have some fun.
Got word today the ECU should be done by next Wed. The 2010-2013s were different, so they required a new calibration which was not originally expected. So hopefully up and running by the end of next week.
The install was really easy... I can't think of anything that is difficult or very time consuming with the right tools. Just lots of steps and a little bit of thinking things out with aftermarket stuff to manipulate around. No real mechanical skills required at all. I can't really say how long it took, since I did little bits and pieces as I had free time in the evenings. But it felt like about 10hrs of work.
Suggestion if you tackle this. Keep little zip lock bags for the fasteners for each step with a sticky to label what they are and what step they came from. Makes it very easy when things are going back together... Also label all connections that you remove if you are not familiar with what they are.
I would say the only frustrating things are figuring out how to get some of the factory clips to release in a few places I tried to document some of those so more details could be added to the guide, but there are so many that I got tired of being so detailed at some point...
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed when I finally get to turn the key over that I did not miss anything.... The truck has been down longer than I expected.. but I knew there could be delays with the pilot.
I think it could easily be done in a day if you had all the required parts and the handheld tuner in the box...If you are 100% stock that should be the case. If you have stuff to move or special mounting requirements because of a winch or bumper..add a little time to sort that part out and gather the additional parts you might need. You could minimize downtime by figuring out that part first (which will mainly just be the pump location, reservoir, and hose routing for the intercooler. The rest sits directly on top of the motor so nothing to really interfere with or get in the way.
