Just because it's old tech doesn't mean it is automatically bad.
My 97 4runner with all new suspension components with rear coils has way worse road dynamics than the current F150s or my friends same year expedition.

Toyota originally planned to have a V8 option. Due to government regulations (which are not calculated the same for "domestic" auto makers), Toyota Cannot put a V8 in the 4runner. It's not their choice.
They have their place in the world of trucks....especially when you're talking a camper in the bed with overload springs.

Was trade my 2011 SR5 for this (2011 FX4 F150):
The SR5 was a big disappointment. The interior felt cheap with all that plastic. Horrible stock radio. Brake sway felt like you were doing an endo on a bike. No driver controlled 2nd row dome light. No 3rd row dome light at all.
And the worst part was the rear sag. Practically dragging bumper when pulling a small popup camper.
Glad I got rid of her.
Did you get the eco boost V6? My neighbor bought one and that V6 turbo has awsume power. To bad Toyota does not put turbos on the 4runner V6.

My neighbor was doing his fence and hired a contractor with exactly the same F150. They hauled some lumber in the truck bed from the store only 2KM away. When they got to the back yard, the F150's tailgate was found bent and the contractor had to replace it.
I asked the contractor:"Is the Ford supposed to be built tough?" "Apparently not." he replied.

I have the same truck as my work truck and everyday I cringe when I get in it cause I'd rather be driving my used T4R with my gas than my brand new truck with company provided gas.
By the way. The sync systems is the most re****ed POS I have ever had to deal with in any vehicle. Less than 2K mi on the truck and I had to take it back to the dealership for an upgrade. :redbrick:It wasn't recalled, it just wasn't functioning properly. It took them over 5 hours to install the "upgraded" software so now it works sometimes, but not others. And never really works the same. That's not even the worst part of the sync system, the Bluetooth :repuke:is.
By the way, the back AV outlet won't hold my inverter plug in and my inverter/computer looses power at least 10x/day. I have to take the plug out and put it right back just to get it to work almost everytime.
And, don't even get me started on the "safety" features like the blinkers...
I hate that Ford POS!
BTW: That V6 EcoBoost is so awesome, I'm getting almost 15mpg!

Thats actually a really nice truck, hope you enjoy it. I can't imagine why you bought a 4runner if you wanted/needed a full sized pickup. I came from a pickup and I admit that I miss some things about it, but I'm not surprised by that, I knew I would.
It's obvious you posted here to get this reaction, and I assume in 6 month when you realize that a G37S is what really truly meets your needs you will post a similar thread on the f150 message board. (and I'm assuming get similar replies)

Lol two totally different vehicles...I personally own a 2008 SCREW F150 FX4 and a 2011 SR5 4RUNNER and the both are great, for doing what they are intended for. No need to bash on the 4RUNNER for not doing the "job" of a truck. In most cases you always get rapped on a trade, so if for some special reason you didn't hope you brought vaseline....that is all:bash:
