c350z's 2015 SR5 4x4 build thread, cosmetic stuff but cool

Maybe build thread is a little farfetched, but i did install my own factory running boards tonight...

Here are the details:

Dealer wanted $800 for factory running boards

Searching around this awesome forum found a link for factory boards on amazon, ordered them from a toyota dealer in CA, $353 shipped.

They came in 4 days.

Gathered my stuff, realized my rachet was MIA, quick trip to store and $10 later ready to go.

Laid out everything, boards, bolts, rachet, headlamp, towel, directions and ready set go...

40mins later all done, maybe would have went faster but it was just me.

Thanks to this website saved me $447, thank you.

My next mod is to plastidip the rims, then a cargo roof rack...

UPDATE...

Plastidipped rims and added the TRD skip plate

You saw the before pics above here it is currently after 6 coats of dip ( a little OCD i know, they recommend 4) and with the TRD skip plate

thanks, that just made me pull the trigger on painting my wheels black as soon as the weather gets better.

Now you just gotta black out the roof rails until you get your rack. Looks good, now I'm looking at the TRD skid plate but I gotta keep reminding myself that I want to pay it off in two years so don't mod it.

yea i really need to do the roof rack, but was debating buying a Gobi Stealth rack...

Yeah I want a rack so I can transport large items, I got kids so the back is taken up with strollers and junk.

i downsized from a suburban, so i am used to overpacking for family trips, so the storage up top would be nice on long trips
