That's how my climate controls look too Garyn. Did you get everything ordered for the cluster? Are you going to attempt it yourself, or do you want some help with it?

I got it all but I am not brave enough to take on the cluster by myself. The 3mm LEDs were hard enough. If you're willing to help out, I'll take it!

How long did this take you? I've read some people it takes 8+hours etc. I'm in Saint Louis, but would be interested in taking a drive out to see/help.

I agree. The Limited cluster takes a bit longer because there are quite a few more leds than the SR5/Sport cluster.

I've got an 05 sport and the orange arrow that doesn't light up when the "off" button is pressed. I've changed the LEDs so the writing on them shows up again, but is it possible to get the arrow to light up again?

I'm pretty sure there is not an led in that position. My Limited did not have one there.

nope, no led in the "off" position unless you add it when you swap out hte colors.

I added one to that location in my truck but burned out the led immediately. That location apparently does not have a resistor to drop the voltage down from 12 volts.

strange, i added a red LED in the "off" position to my '05 SR5 and have had no issues, still lights up!

I added that led to mine but it never turned on. The led was visibly burned up and that's when I found out it had 12 volts going to it. There are several folks that have added it with no issues, so I didn't bother to get my meter out to check it.

limited vs SR5? i know the HVAC panels are different, maybe the voltage as well? long shot i know, but mine has worked and continues to work from day one.

Quick question please. What is the proper way to remove the black gauge face? My needles are removed, but I don't see how this face is held on. I don't want to to try and pry it out if that is not the correct manner.

under each needle area, there is a little white clip. this, along with the white posts on the side of the cluster hold the faceplate in. just have to massage it out, should be easy. i usually lift the faceplate above the posts on the sides and then i am able to work it out.

Thank you Yosh2000. I actually didn't have to remove the black face. I finished all the white lights now I just gotta figure out how I want to do the needles.

Here is what I did to get the pins for the lcd to separate from the plastic housing. This was done using a dremel with a small cutoff wheel and a small pair of snips. Take your time with this part as you can easily damage the pins for the lcd if you get in a hurry.

So there is no other way to separate the LCD panel from the back plastic? I'm pretty good with a dremel, but Yikes.

You can unsolder all those pins if you like. I chose to use the Dremel instead.
