Dual Battery - a la Bulldog

I copied most of this idea from Bulldog (thanks) on the other forum. I adapted it a little bit by ripping off mace. (thanks too) I really like the WiredWagon power distribution box, he used on his lights, so I added that.

It was a little like a puzzle trying to use all the existing holes to keep from drilling (had to drill one hole).

I took these crappy cell phone pics so Antman would know what he is looking at. (no I have not hooked anything up the the relay box ... yet).

Nice clean install. Just wondering why decided to put the battery back there instead of in front which seems like the logical spot.

With the bumper and winch I have a lot of weight up front already, so keeping behind the front axle helps a little bit.

I thought about mounting in the front (a long time). Harper made a nice mounting bracket for that location. There is a aussy that has a really nice kit (he's very proud of it too).

There are a lot of FJ guys that mount the second one in this location (Dirty Larry makes a kit). Bulldog did this on his rig. More I thought about it more I liked it. Required a little more work.

Nice work. When you mounted the relay box, did you're screws/bolts come through the wheel well? I used short sheet metal screws and they are visible in the well. I put a huge glop of silicone on them. Is that enough to keep it from rusting or should I clean it off and use something else?

I went to ace hardware and got some stainless bolts/washers (like $2) and use blue lock-tite on them. What you did will work for a good while, but will eventually rust. I would not sweat it though probably good for a couple of years at least.

That is a sweet relay box and switches, glad you posted it up! !
