I'm pretty sure I just bought your old headlights from oracle on eBay. Any reason you did away with them? Did you have issues? Just want to make sure I'm not about to inherit your headache

We ended up with the entire housing painted except the reflector of the high beam. In which I installed an LED 9005 bulb. I would not suggest this. They are not very bright, but look pretty cool when all the lights are on. I know, this may not be for everyone, but it's my truck, right?:lookout:

Thanks guys! I was just having fun out there. It was something I started doing the last snow storm we had a couple years ago. I just got caught by channel 12 this time. Always willing to lend a hand. Plus I get to use this badass truck so why not. The look on people's faces as I pull them is priceless. Especially when they're chevy's and ford's.

And here I was ONE day late for the snowstorm!

Keep all of your paperwork and make sure you have some sort of warranty. Don't leave feedback for them for at least 60 days. That should be enough time to see if they fog up. It looks like they didn't even fix the crooked side marker of the passenger side light.

I'm pretty sure they didn't touch them. They probably sat on a warehouse shelf and someone decided to post them on eBay. One of the mounting tabs is also broken. And the overall quality seems pretty poor. After going through that link I'm kinda scared and think I should just return them. The price was right but the headache isn't worth it. If the headlights were easier to remove and install I would take the risk, but I don't want to pop my bumper off every 2 weeks. Do you have an alternate recommendations? Could I just seal them better?

The interior of my truck has been apart for the past couple of weeks. Now that the kids are in school full time, I've got some mod time to myself.

Disclaimer: All of these are done in a 2011 LE with 3rd row. Some of the mods are geared towards that. I really use the 3rd row especially with visitors. The kids are small enough and comfortable in the back back.

Ultimately, I will have only one seat in the back and I'll finally bolt down my ARB fridge slide and drawer. Its almost as if it was designed that way. The floor is fairly even with the ARB drawer and the other 3rd row seat.

Not sure if "risky" is the way I'd put it. But if you are mechanically inclined, it's relatively easy to take things apart and put them back together. Just don't FORCE anything and use common sense when dismantling and you'll be fine. It's worth the effort for sound deadening. However, if you plan on any other modifications, I'd recommend planning ahead and tackling that at the same time.

A little update on what's going on for myself and the truck, for those that care :biggrin2:

I recently replaced the upper ball joints in my SPC Light Racing control arms. There is a new and improved ball joint system that you can now grease.


I won't bore you with install pics because everyone pretty much knows what an upper control arm ball joint looks like.




I know LR control arms have had a bad rap due to several of their first batches of control arm failure. And while I can't dismiss that reputation, I'm glad to know even after 50k miles of wear and tear, only one of my ball joints had enough play to be concerned with.

[MENTION=78318]RiDE[/MENTION] came over to the Ducmonsta Garage so we could install his dual ARB compressor and 1 gallon tank by the passenger side firewall. Evidence shows, even Mark can turn a wrench!

In other Ducmonsta news, I've taken a new turn in my search for the almighty dollar. I was a recruiter for the Consumer Products Industry for the past year or so. And although the money was good, it simply wasn't satisfying.

So I turned to the folks who built my teardrop trailer, TeardropsNW. They have brought me on to help with their online community, Facebook and Instagram. Ideally, I will help promote their standard trailer builds but also heavily focus on the 4wd/offroad market with the "Recon". I will be attending trade shows, going to events, and documenting what an teardrop trailer does when it goes off the tarmac. Now, I don't plan on completing the Rubicon by any means, but I want to show the teardrop community that it's not all about the state campgrounds but about the road you take there.

TeardropsNW is located in Salem, Or and build some fantastic little trailers.









I'd love to get my 4Runner community involved with them and possibly sell a couple to you guys

No joke and I know it's going to sound weird but this morning as I'm driving to work, I was thinking I haven't seen bobby on the forum much and I wonder what he is up to. I was also thinking when we'll see photos of you putting the trailer to use!

Which trailer is aimed towards the 4x4/overland market?

The "Recon", which I own their first build, is the one that I helped build for them. They are one of the few companies that use a full box frame and didn't cost over $30k to build (Moby1, SoCal, etc.). Nothing wrong with those guys but it was simply too much trailer for what my intentions were. But at the same time, its not built on cheap c-channel frames, nailed together walls and cabinetry, and overall on an inexpensive mass produced facility (Little Guy).

I am also going to be helping TeardropsNW with their website as you'll see its not the greatest in the world. So if you have any questions, don't hesitate to pm me.

Spent some more garage time with [MENTION=78318]RiDE[/MENTION] working on his ride:bowl: Helped him remove the 3rd row for some sound deadening and put him to work!:whipping2:

I really enjoy helping people learn more about their trucks. So for the record, if you're coming over for help with any install, expect to learn a few things and put them to use while you work on your own truck. :lol:


I'm pretty excited for the next project he wants to tackle. I won't let the cat out of the bag in case Mark wants to keep it a secret. But, this next one is going to be quite a project.
