Did you already buy a smaller pulley? My 2.1 just came in the mail...hoping to install soon! Looking forward to seeing your progress. Congrats on the BOOST!

I haven't bought a smaller pulley yet, my funds are extremely low at this point in my life! Time for a big boy job already! lol

I felt the same way when I installed my supercharger, but I knew it was a bad idea buying one because I’d want more boost.

Sure enough I do. More than likely what I’m going to purchase with some tax return money is the 7th and a smaller pulley.

100% going to do the fuel upgrades & stuff because after tuning, a heavy rig with armor can really "GO" again.

I know!!!!!!!! everything kind of worked out perfectly though because I had just got my smock check done & I didn't have the SMOG cert sticker... I didn't want to fail because of a visual inspection so now that I got that out of the way I have 2 years to sort out any problems that I end up running into. a BIG THANKS to [MENTION=47794]Aznwolf118[/MENTION] for hooking it up with the sticker.

Lake Tahoe Trip 2018

Took the bae to Tahoe for the week for her birthday to snowboard & relax.

First impressions of the TRD Supercharger is pure stoked-awesome-sauce.

This thing really helps with getting up hills no doubt.

So far it has been running great, no issues I can detect & the truck seems to be happy even at these higher altitudes.

I put together a short little film of a couple aspects of our trip & took a couple pictures of the truck.

So... There is snow?! I was a bit worried with the lack rain for us here and damn warm weather.... We leave next Saturday.

Glad the SC is treating you well! SCs were made for higher altitudes, airplanes, due to the less dense air. Have a SC'd car in the garage, no-op at the time. Miss driving it...

Does the stock ECM adjust to the boost or was there a re-flash involved? I enjoyed the whining sound that it makes when Tim filmed it in the drive-by.

Sean, get the 2.2 pulley and 7th injector and you should be good.

if memory serves me rite. the 2.2 will put you at 9lbs of boost.

can't verify since the trd boost gauge was pulled off my truck, kind of wanted to be a little more low key after the maps where done, didn't need a gauge the boost whine spoke for itself.

then gears and lockers...for the win....hahaha

Not too much snow but some & thanks!, I think everyone should SC their runner!

The ECU will learn overtime and adjust. So no software flash or anything like that. Just plug n’ play! The SC can have some programming help from the 7th injector computer box which allows you to tune with a computer.

More mods More problems! Hahah. I’m going to wait a little while before my funds allow me to get a pulley & the URD 7th... but you are right, the 7th is on my checklist of things to do this year.

A little progress report since I was in Tahoe is that so far I noticed my gas mileage on long trips hasn't really been affected...
I got almost 260 miles per tank on the way back from Tahoe & on the way up the hills & driving around town I was right around 220 miles per tank like I usually was before the supercharger. going up the hills in Tahoe I left the OD on & saw my transmission temps reach temperatures of almost 220 degrees & as soon as I turned off OD I dropped to 141 degrees. thats a pretty significant difference in trans temps so for those of you who don't play with the OD button on the shifter you should really start. Since I have replaced my transmission approximately 1 year ago now I have had 0 issues so I'm very happen with the remanufactured transmission from Toyota. it pulls strong & I drive pretty aggressively... sometimes. The 4runner doesn't care about hills like it use to... I just keep my foot on the gas & it just climbs nicely. pretty rad to feel the difference. you kind of have to drive your own 4runner before & after to really appreciate the difference in power, performance & ease of driving.

so now that I'm back home doing "around town" driving I have noticed that with my heavy foot on the gas I'm at about 200 miles per tank instead of the 220 I was use to...

if I baby it & drive like an old fart I get almost 250 miles per tank.

DUDE!!! These are awesome! thanks again & the custom AIRRAID airtime brings it all together. seriously fricken rad man. This is something everyone needs that has any kind of custom items under the hood.

He even added the AIC check valve on this sticker! stoked!

Glad you're satisfied. I think they're a nice little detail that is overlooked and actually pretty important for some people.

Plus I think it could throw the smog techs for a loop as well.

And again, you're sticker actually helped me to acquire the later model 3rd gens design, so it was a win-win

I tried this out yesterday.. it works but volume level 4 & 5 just kind of sounds weird. Not like noticeable increase in loudness, I noticed more a tonal difference. I guess it might depend on where you stand in relationship to the speaker module that makes the locking tone but it’s good to know you can adjust the volume using this TSB.

Finally fixed my cruise control to operate correctly... if I knew what wires did what I probably could have swapped some pins but because I didn’t I swapped over the cruise control lever from my old wheel. Because the ground cable was affixed to a metal plate, I de-pinned the ground & swapped it over. It’s pretty straight forward to Swap this component from another 4runner wheel but my Lexus wheel was slightly different otherwise no ground swapping would have been necessary.

MOAB, Utah 2018

I have to start this by saying this was the most epic trip I’ve taken with my rig. The views were spectacular, the trails were rad & my truck really impressed me. I went with a bunch of 5th Gens so I was a the runt of the pack but ultimately I was able to take some lines that the 5th Gens weren’t able to. I went with my buddy Dave (@cytronus) & his twin brother Mike, their sister (& her dog), Pete & 2 others that I met for the first time. There were 6 rigs total (5 5th Gens and my 3rd Gen). It took us 2 days to get there from The Bay Area. We stayed for 5 & took 2 days to drive back. Pete found a pretty amazing camp area way off the beaten path. The weather was awesome & we even did the “Whole Enchilada” ride for those of you who like to mountain bike. If you haven’t gone to Moab to wheel, you seriously have to consider adding this to your bucket list.
