Maglite mods!

Alright guys it's time for maglite mods! Post pictures and let's talk about modded mags.

Mine:
1.) Black Maglite 2D Xenon:
Concerted to run off of two 26650 lithium cells, 5500 mah each. 280 lumen LED bulb dropped in. Shortened spring with the annodizing chemically removed from the spring cap so the short spring can sit inside. Finally, a special aluminum reflector lens combo from Australia.

Run time is about 33 hours or so.

2.) One Black & one Red Mini Maglites Incan:
Still experimenting with these. Currently have one running the stock bulb and another running a JDM (if I recall) led. One is using an aluminum reflector while the other is using a stock reflector that I applied sputtering to. As best I could at least. Both are running eneloop rechargable AA's. No alkaline waste.

I’ve owned about 10 Maglites over the years. Only mods have been converting them to LEDs. I find them to be too heavy and they damage things easily when you place them on soft items or set them down hard. Plus I got tired of cleaning up after alkaline batteries often leaked.

Now I buy flashlights from Light & Motion.
Composite material, rechargeable, CREE LEDs.
Taz 1500 for bicycling of hand carry. 1500 lumens.
Taz 1500 - Light & Motion

Underwater handhelds.
Gobe Spot. 800 lumens.
GoBe 800 Spot FC - Light & Motion

Vis Pro headlamp. 600 lumens.
Vis Pro Adventure: Rechargeable Headlamp for Runners and Bikers - Light & Motion

Sorry to blast your thread. I do like tinkering with lighting and like your mods. :thumb3:

My old C cell Maglite is too old for a Malkoff. Tossed in a 1/2" PVC pipe and now run enloops on a cheap LED head.

I actually just recently found some "warm" LED's for my 2D mag and also acquired some eneloops for my mini mags. Still wish warm LED's were more common...
