Need a new engine fan bracket bearing, bearing or whole bracket?

Rockauto has the Aisin OE piece for $135.99. That's sure to be the same as what Toyota WON'T sell you, except as part of the whole package. AISIN makes the OE fan clutch, too.

Go Here and then search for 1630762011. Or, if you Google that number, you can find other sources even cheaper for just the bracket, including FleaBay. The AISIN part No. is FBT004; you can Google that and find it for $105. I don't think the bearing itself is a listed replaceable part anywhere, but a good machine shop might be able to press in a generic SKF, Timken or something. I'd probably just buy the AISIN bracket and know I'm good for another ten years. Junkyard pieces are gonna have ten years and at least 100K on them.

Reviving this old thread. Has anyone been able to replace or source just the bearing and not the entire bracket? I have been looking for a suitable replacement bearing but have not found anything to cross reference it with. It is a water pump style bearing. I am assuming a 3jaw puller could be used to remove the pulley from the bearing, then a press or water pump style bearing puller could remove the bearing out the front of the bracket.
Reinstalling the new bearing may also be a challenge.

What is the bearing number on the AISIN part and how is it holding up? Curious what the bearing number is on a factory bracket/bearing compared to AISIN.

maybe this is my mystery noise, will have to try again listening, but to me mine sounds more in the area of the a/c idler pulley.
In the timing belt area, is there an idler or something in that general area.?

No. the idlers are central, but higher than the water pump which sits behind the fan bracket. Possibly noise is water pump.

Best thing is pull all the aux. belts and add them back one at a time. If noise is there with no belts, suspect the timing components.

Cannot remove the bearing

No need to drain coolant.

Hi all. I had to replace this in my 1998. Did it last week - ordered the Aisin replacement off Amazon. Currently living in Mexico with limited tools and really didn't want to drain the coolant. I was able to flip the idler cover after sliding the constant tension clamp toward the radiator. Took me 30 minutes at a slow pace and no coolant drained. Pics attached.

Would be interested to see pictures for anyone who might have attempted to disassemble this part to service just the bearings. From the looks of it, this does not appear to be a serviceable part using standard bearings, even if you did have a press.

I pressed off the flange today and this is what's under it. I looks like the bearings and shaft assembly were installed and then the aluminum was rolled over to hold them in place.

I know I am late on this... but my noise was the pulley right behind the fan bracket. When I changed my timing belt and pulleys the noise went away and this turned into the quietest engine I have.

I had that problem, mine was the fan clutch, the clutch was good but it had a slight wobble that made the noise. Once I replaced it it went away.

My fan bracket bearing was noisy when taking it off for a timing belt change and I attempted to disassemble it to see if I could replace just the bearings.

The fan bracket bearings are NOT replaceable!

As has been mentioned previously a lip of the bracket breaks off when pressing out the bearing and rod. When attempting to press the rod out of the bearings the assembly explodes due to the way the ball bearings on one side ride in a channel in both the rod side and outside bearing race. Luckily due to the sketchy nature of what I was attempting, I was shielded behind a makeshift blast shield when the outer race let go. The other side has needle bearings it looks like.

A new Aisin fan bracket from amazon is now on the way.
