3rd gen rear coils for "Zuk mod". 1.5" BJ spacer and torsions adjusted accordingly. 2012 4runner trail edition rims with Yokohama Geolander AT 265/70/17

It looks perfect. Grey with black cover top and red with black cover top, my favorites, I can't decide the color I'm going to paint mine. For sure the cover top'll be black :)
Cut or no cut zuk mod?

Thank you! No cut ZUK with 3rd gen coils. I actually want to take it back to factory color of silver. I do like the gunmetal but i have these chameleon graphics on it i'm not too fond of.

Full OME kit with 3/4" BJ spacers up front. Still rub slightly so I need to crank the torsion bars up for another 1"

How do your OME's ride? I just installed new rear leaves about 3 weeks ago and the ride is pretty bouncy. I did not replace the rear shocks, thinking i should do that.

Very firm and I like it a lot, compared to my old, tired and ass-sagging suspension. At first, it was bouncy too but I think after 500 miles or so, it starts to settle more and rides much better. Either that, or I just get used to it lol. I also replace the torsion bars since I'll be putting the ARB bar and winch up in the front in the near future.

I'd recommend you to replace the shocks too. That alone will greatly help the ride.

awesome, thanks for the info!

Hey everyone, I searched around for suspension ideas and have found quite a bit of good information. I'm just looking for opinions from people who maybe have run the set up I want to go with.

The 4runner is mostly used for camping/exploring fsr and hauling my dirtbike on a hitch carrier. Currently running 31's with 4.56 gear and with no plans on changing. Thinking of adding a winch up front one day.

I think I have been persuaded towards a OME set up. Not to sure if they only sell a HD and a NON HD kit.

I was thinking of adding balljoint spacers with a diff drop and slacking off torsion bars off. I just installed manual hubs thinking of the CV angles. I read somewhere about changing the upper bump stops to low pro and shimming or leaving the stock droop stops?

Torsion bars - Not to sure if I should keep stock or upgrade? If i want a winch should I upgrade?
Front shocks
Rear Shocks
Rear Coils HD - I normally have at least 200lbs at all times in the rear, add the dirtbike and its around 500lbs.
Steering stabilizer
ball joint spacers
diff drop
pan hard drop - Not sure if it is a needed part?
low pro upper bump stops- ?

Currently has factory front end bushings would it be worth the effort to pick up a kit from energy suspension poly bushing kit, or just let it buck and swap when it's really needed?

If anyone has any suggestions for other set ups let me know. I took a look at the 4" procomp bracket lift but it's just to much lift for what I need. No plans to SAS or LT atm.

I think you would be happy with bj spacers. Old Man Emu would suffice all of your needs as well. I didn't see what year your T4R is, but whether you have coils or leafs in the rear, they can take care of all that. I've always ran Bilstein shocks, but I've never really heard any negative reports on OME Nitrocharger shocks paired with the rest of their suspension components. That's what they are valved for though.
4.56 gears and 31's will take you far. A friend of mine has an '85 with the same gear/tire combo, but he has a lunchbox locker front and rear and he's basically unstoppable.

I second Wade's opinion ^^^

I basically run the kit just like you're considering, including the torsion bars since I'm going to put my ARB bumper and a winch on. I'd recommend you go up a notch by ordering the HD rear leaf packs (constant 200KG load, part# CS010R or 300KG load, part#2901 if you have coils) because you'll have your bike on most of the time.

Your 4.56's will come in handy when you upgrade the tires to 33's. That's my next stop I'm going to do as well.

Here is my 87 with 3" Body lift and 32x11.50r15s on stock wheels. Slightly cranked torsion bars and zuk mod rear. I despise the body lift and would really like a way to hide it. or make it more presentable. Removing the lift seems like a huge pain in the ass. I have a set of 305/70r16s on 16x8 steelies with 4.25" Back spacing. I removing the side steps in the morning. Any help with hiding or making the body lift less noticeable or more presentable would be awesome. Also are there any bumpers out there that cater to body lifted yotas? Hope the pics come through.

Lift is in, omega all the way around with a differential drop. Still working on new wheels but one step at a time.

I'm trying to get my diff drop in, but the mounting bolts are quite stubborn. I've PB blasted them, whacked the housing with a hammer, used a 3ft pry bar (which only succeeded in snapping my socket wrench.) Did you do yours yourself, or take it to a shop?

Finally got it an alignment. Cranked another 1" of torsion along with the previously installed 3/4" BJ spacers to level the front. No more rubbing. ~15 1/4" from top of the front wheel's edge vertically straight up to the fender, if someone is curious to know.

ball joint spacer lift up front with torsion crank and 1" diff drop spacers. rear lift is OME rear leafs ( ride is rough as shit!!)
tires are 32" no rub at all
Torsion bars - Not to sure if I should keep stock or upgrade? If i want a winch should I upgrade?
Stock handles almost any trail.
Front shocks-
Old Man Emu 2"
Rear Shocks
- Same
Rear Coils HD
- OME 2"
Steering stabilizer-
OME
ball joint spacers-
Yes do it!
diff drop.
Read my build thread. You can make these yourself for $5 at the hardware store.
pan hard drop
- Yes, do it.
low pro upper bump stops
- Not needed.

Bracket lift is too much for what you want.

Original paint? Or did you find someone to replicate the decals? Thanks

original paint on all panels. has dings that im thinking of having ding doctor fix so i dont have to repaint. the paint is in very good shape even on roof. the guy who had it prior to me had it 21 years and garaged it most time.
the decals are little aged and faded considering the age but still in good shape. i was going to buy new decals from james dean creations that makes all the classic toyota decals, but decided to wait till i figure out what im going to do with the dings and such. click below on the link if you are interested in any classic toyota decals.
