Nice. I ended up ditching the JBL amp as well and used the 2013 FRS head unit. I like how the 2014 looks better but the 2013 had the RCA outs. I was able to use ARC xdi805 5 ch amp and fit it in the same location as the jbl amp with some modification to the OEM subwoofer/amp mount. :rockon:
Hey guys I have a question for the ones who have done this install with the nav unit. Have you had problems with vehicle positioning? My unit has a hard time placing my car within an 8th of a mile of where I actually am. Just checking to see if anyone had to calibrate their units after swapping it over. Thanks.

I'm back in a rental Corolla with the touch screen radio. I love the HU again and found I can get a deal on a Scion FSR NAV............ urghh, but if I pull the trigger, I am stuck with gutting the JBL crap and rewiring everything.
So no one found an acceptable work around the JBL issue?

[MENTION=50507]CookieRoe[/MENTION] seems like you can use the tyto to hook everything up. Just cut off the RCAs and solder a reverse harness.
Another option, there is a 2013 highlander unit on egay right now. It's a jbl, so should be PnP. Listed for 695, I offered the guy 150 and he countered 500. Maybe try 450 and you could get it?

[MENTION=50507]CookieRoe[/MENTION] the rewiring went well. I ended up going with arc audio xdi 805 five channel amp. It is small enough to fit where the JBL amp is located with some modification to the plastic housing that the JBL amp and sub are mounted to. As of now, I am still using the stock speakers and to me they sound great. Much better than they did when using the JBL amp. I decided to eliminate the center speaker in the dash as well as the 2 rear pillar speakers in the cargo area. I wasn't exactly sure how to wire them up (what channel to use, whether to wire them in series or parallel) but am happy with how the system sounds without them. I did end up using the 2013 FRS touchscreen since it had RCA outs.
[MENTION=30225]yosh2000[/MENTION] the highlander head unit looks very similar to the 2014 FRS. Do you know what color the buttons/backlighting is on that unit? I am assuming that the dimensions are the same (would fit in 4th gen w/o modification/dashkit)

WOW, great find Yosh!! IT's JBL, didn't know they existed!! Comes with NAV (which I WANT), but not sure if that is part/separate of the Entune/Bespoke (I still can't figure out what the difference is. From what I've read on Scion forums, Bespoke sucks and seems to be very limited in it's app compared to Entune. Again, I'm not 100% sure if Entune and Navigation are mutually exclusive or not)

I was flooded to see this was a Highlander version. My sister has a 2010 Highlander and I can tell you the factory nav is different ( maybe I'm wrong, looks like this unit will fit a previous Generation Highlander, so............... I dunno)

Like I mentioned previously, I have an E7009 ( [MENTION=30225]yosh2000[/MENTION] ) that I had the LEDs resoldered, anyway, from I see from time to time, they got for big money ($700-900), so this mod should pay for itself............ in theory.
it actually does NOT come with Nav. the nav setup is actually a separate module that mounts below the stereo. that guy on egay had the stereo and nav unit up for $1200, but seems like he sold the nav unit as he now has just the stereo for $695. you can see the empty space below the stereo. guy has only 1 feedback, has a terrible description....a couple signs that caused me to bid so low. FYI, i would suggest you do your research and if you do purchase, pay in a way that will protect you, not just that joke buyer protection from paypal!

I noticed that AFTER I made a bid. I rescinded it. I offered $350, but that is ABOUT what the nonJBL units are going for on fleabay. I'm not paying more than $400-500 for only a touchscreen radio.

So anyway, I thought I'd include some info I found. The unit itself you can easily get on fleabay for about $350-450. If you want ENTUNE or BESPOKE (get the ENTUNE) you will get NAVIGATION.

BINGO! That is why I rescinded my offer. His title is misleading......... $800 for that? The non-JBL can be had for about $350-450. JBL doesn't justify paying 2x that. He can go pound sand.
EDIT: What's important is that we all know that a JBL version exists out there!
