Question for you, before you install the suspension mods:

I am interested in those tires, but I am told they will not work on 2015 Trail with stock 17 x 7.5 wheels and stock suspension.
Can you report on any rubbing issues you have?
If they work with the TRD 17" rims, they should work with stock rims, no?

I have slight rubbing at full lock turning left and in reverse, nothing major. I drive normally and take wider turns and have no rubbing. Im sure with some minor trimming you won't have any issues. Keep in mind I've yet to go off road with this setup, more than likely you'll get more rubbing. Nothing some front spacers and minor trimming couldn't fix I reckon. It will be a mystery as to what is getting rubbed at full lock because I don't care to fix the issue until after I lift her up.

The TRD wheels and stock wheels have different offsets and are different size so I can not give you info about stock wheels.

EDIT: ZERO RUBBING WITH LIFT

Love the tires, best I've ever owned. Performed flawlessly (on several grades) in Colorado ...dirt, loose rock, snotty mud, frozen mud, 3"snow. I was in several situations where Crawl Control with these tires got me out of sticky situations with less stress, its awesome to say the least!

Not skinny to me, plus all of the ruts on the off-road trails and dirt roads were made from skinny tire vehicles so I fit right in. When you try and stick a wide tire in skinny ruts i find its more difficult to maneuver, had that problem with my f250 truck all the time granted they were 35X12.5

I have the front coils adjusted to show 1.25" of threads on top, which equals 2.5", and yes the rear springs are 2" lift. After the suspension settles ill probably adjust the front coils to show 1.5" of threads.

Thanks for the info! What kind of mpg's are you getting? I'm a little hesitant to go for load E tires. But they look sick with the TRD pro wheels.

Well I only have around 3k miles on the rig and these are approximations based on my driving style, but with stock tires I got 17.5mpg mix and with the new tires I get 17.1mpg

75-80mph ...Traveling to Colorado using cruise control mostly I got 14-15mpg, traveling back to Oklahoma using my foot mostly I got 18-19. I bet I could get 21mpg on semi-level elevations.

Update: Im averaging 15.8mpg with this setup

THE RATTLE-CAN / PLASTI-DIP ALTERNATIVE

Here is a very brief write-up on how I sprayed my front and rear bumper trim pieces flat black. BEWARE: this method is faster than using a rattle can, produces a superior finish in smoothness and durability, can be put to service within 6-8hr (dries fast) and finally its simply better than all other alternatives Ive seen on this forum because its a 2 component acrylic urethane coating, it literally melts itself into the existing coatings!

MATERIAL LIST

Denatured Alcohol
Tack Cloth and White Rags
3M Vinyl Tape (1/4")
White Painters Tape (1")
Brown Paper Roll (9")
Painters Plastic (.31mil)

STAGING

The first thing you need to do is find a good clean shop so your enviroment can be controlled, not to say you can't do this outside but you'll possibly contend with debri, wind, and sun which is the enemy for painting a fine finish.

Next you'll need to use the 1/4" 3M vinyl tape and place by hand around the pieces your painting, close as possible (Head Lamp is great here), this will give you a clean sharp seamless line and is easy to bend/stretch around sharp corners. Now use the 1" tape with the brown paper and tape it to the vinyl tape you just laid (paint masker makes this faster), here your not worried about a seamless line so what i did was lay my long pieces of tape/paper first then filled in the corners with small pieces of "tape only" as you see in the pics below. (Brown paper is used because it will absorb any overspray paint and not run down into the finish) Now cover the rest of the rig with plastic, and tape the brown paper and plastic together to create a seal, make sure everything is covered up good.

PREP IS CRUCIAL

Now that everything is covered up lets start prepping the surfaces to be painted. Take a clean rag and clean the trim pieces with denatured alcohol, this will remove any wax or dirt from the surface. Next, take the 800 grit paper with a bucket of water (wet paper good) then "lightly" sand the trim pieces to get rid of the sheen.(Keep water off taped surfaces) After a bit re-wet the sand paper in water to clean it then start sanding agian. (This shouldn't take long, the process is very quick and simple, don't over sand it.) After everything has been lightly sanded to a dull sheen then re-clean the surface with denatured alcohol. Now your surface is ready, if you see any dust on the surface at this point use the tack cloth to gently remove dust off surface before painting.

NOW TO THE FUN PART, SPRAYING

Get out your gravity feed gun or go up to Home depot and buy a cheap one. It should come with a 1.3mm-1.4mm tip. Below I've attached a PDF sheet with directions on how to set up the gun and compressor for spraying Vintage Hot Rod Black. Its extremely easy to set up. Once your set up I recommend spraying on a card board box or a 5 gallon plastic bucket just so you get the hang of the sprayer and adjust the fan pattern width to your likings. I spray the hard to reach areas first like the little awkward cracks (rear bumper by hitch) by holding the gun further back 14-16" away and making quick burst in to the cracks. Then I proceed to finish the piece by keeping my fan width around 6-8" and hold the gun about 12" away from the surface at all times making medium/quick long passes across the entire surface. You don't want to stop in the middle of a pass, just focus on making long horizontal passes, start on the paper then pass across onto the trim piece then off the trim back onto the paper on the other side. If you can spray a rattle can then this will be easier and faster. The key is to make sure your 1st coat has a full wet look (Spray until it looks wet, don't go any further), this paint dries really fast and has excellent hold out so it won't sag or run on you like other products unless you really spray it on thick. (Shouldn't take more than 4-5 passes for 1 coat) GOOD LUCK!
