WOW! That must have been REALLY loud!
This happened a few years ago at my place. Drunk going WAY too fast couldn't make the corner and beached himself. Driver actually rang the doorbell @ 3:00 am and asked for a push off the rock. He then bolted... K9 took him down 10 min later.

YUP! Transmission pan had a big hole and the transfer case was cracked. Surprisingly the oil pan was only dented. The backside of the rock was totally oil soaked!

Same thing happened in a roundabout by my place a few years back, but with a brand new Mustang. The sloped curb on the inside of the roundabout was enough to get him enough air to land, almost exactly centered, on a rock about that size.
It looked like a car display at first glance, lol...
Crazy story, OP. I hope the kid was insured or that you've got un(der)insured coverage.

Sorry to see this happen to you but glad the car didn’t end up in your house. It is such a PITA to deal with the aftermath. I feel for you.
A piece of scum is responsible for me getting into my 4Runner. While I planned to purchase one late this year, in March, a repeat offender on meth rear ended me in my prized G35 sedan, while at a stop light. Had to fast-track my 4Runner plans.
Hopefully the insurance process goes smoothly and quickly for you (still trying to wrap up the last bit of money owed in my case).
And may you find yourself in a ’17 4Runner soon!

Contrary to one person's belief, Altima does NOT buff out! (Not that I wanted it back if it were fixed) It is dead (totaled) and will be picked up in a couple days. You should be able to find it up for auction in the near future, if you want it.

Haha! Hey, I'm not ashamed of liking the creature comforts. And limiteds aren't only for mall parking lots either. They look great clean, dirty and muddy too! ...just not caked in Nissan Altima! :frusty:
