Yikes. That's the amazon/eBay special.

Went to the off-road park last night for some night wheeling. That's A LOT of fun. I figured out that I need more lights. I took some cool pictures, I'll post them in a bit.

Here are the pics from my late night adventure.

I gotta tell ya'll. Wheeling at night is friggen LEGIT!

I used to say "why do I need additional lighting? My factory lights are more than adequate!!!!"

Not only does factory lighting not cut it... my aftermarket lights didn't really cut it.

But on to the photos... BTW... I've figure out that this forum doesn't allow Safari to upload more than one photo per post. #lame

The only thing constant is change...

So I bought a crap HID kit, and its crap. So I'm returning it. I went with the Xenon Depot Kit with Phillips bulbs. Its 6.5x more expensive, but its well reviewed.

I'm also returning the HID's that I bought. They are too big for the ditch light brackets. They shake from the wind resistance driving at anything over 60. Plus bumps make them shake. Its annoying.

Not sure what i'm going to replace them with. Up for suggestions from the 3 people who read my build thread lol....

I ordered a 12 circuit BlueSea fuse block today, along with a 100Amp Breaker to protect the entire block. My accessory wiring is getting a little junky under the hood so I figure that will clean it up some.

My mantra for this truck will be "Buy once, Cry once" because i keep buying cheap shit thinking that it will perform, and its just cheap shit that disappoints.

Buy Dually's for the ditch light brackets. The 2x2 or whatever that small size is. I have Cree ones that are supposed to be equivilent to the Dually's and I can tell you that they are NOT! I plan on replacing them with Dually's in the future and then shoving the cree ones in the back bumper for reverse lights.
Here's a link I found. Bunches to choose from though.
Dually - Spot - Pair | Rigid Industries

I really want D2's
I found a deal on TW where I can get duallys for $167/pair.

I was thinking about Hella 4000 with a HID conversion, or some other 4" HID.
HID's get much better marks for long distance light throw vs LED.

So it's not so much that I don't want to spend money. It's that I want to get the right stuff for my money.

From what I've seen of Rigid I think you will be more than happy with them. I know there are a couple guys on here running them and they are very happy. I can't think of any names right now, hopefully someone will chime in.

I'm running a pair of Hella Metal 4000 euro beam (clear rock shields) with 8000k 55w DDM kits on the bumper. Really happy with this setup.

The pic below shows the distance I was able to light up as reference. This is also where I launch the standup :)

I've kinda abandoned this thread, this forum is weird. But still a valuable resource.
Anyway, if anyone is following this miserable thread, heres an update.

I put 285's on this weekend. Some fancy Chinese Mud Terrains. Not sure how I feel about them just yet. They don't look as big as I expected. My wife said the same thing though when I told her it was 8".

Doing a overlanding trip (first one for me) this coming weekend, so i'll have some miles on the road with them as well as some offroad time.

I chopped my body mounts in anticipation of the new shoes. Not sure it was necessary, but its done, so whatevs.

Looks good man!
If you don't mind me asking, why do you think this forum is weird? I've personally found it much more useful and friendly than most, but the other one's I'm on are more dedicated hard core wheeling.

IDK, maybe its just too many people and too much of a spread of interests. I.E. you have people who keep their truck stock and people who do SAS swaps. But build threads seem to get lost in the mix to me.

Another reason its kinda meh, is that everythings been done right? I mean, its hard to break new ground on a 4th gen. Its just the same mods being regurgitated on a new truck that a new member has. So when I get a stock 4th gen, 90% of my mods have been done by everyone else. Theres nothing new, nothing fresh. So nobody looks a the build threads. Nobody comments or cheers people on.

I guess that last part is really my beef. Seems like a lack of "community" to me.

But at the same time, how many build threads can you see where someone deleted their carbon filter before you're like
