Found a T10015 FRS touchscreen for $80. Ordering my harnesses this week. Also looking into the factory OEM Toyota FIT backup camera setup. My wife is used to her backup camera in her Highlander and cant stand how mine doesn't have one. So I "have" to install one with the new FRS radio. Hopefully all goes well with the install soon!!

Amazon.com: Metra 70-8113 Amplifier Integration Harness for Select 2000-2004 Toyota Vehicles: Car Electronics. But looking at Crutchfield and other sites says this is for deleting the JBL setup.
That's strange that some sites say that...the description on Amazon says it's used to retain the factory amplifier.

I still might get those two harnesses and try. But want to have all on hand first. Ive been out of the stereo game for awhile now. Crazy how much has changed in 15 years. I don't like guessing at stuff. and I want stuff to be right. Don't want to go plugging in a harness that might not work and then back feeds the wiring and screws something up.
No, you're right, it does not. However, that is why I thought that if you used the reverse harness and converted them that it *might* work. Many people on here have said that the JBL "amp" isn't really so much like a traditional amp, but more of a controller for the additional speakers (additional being those that you have over the standard non-JBL setup). Either way, I don't blame you for playing it safe and getting the stuff that you know will work.
Forgive my ignorance, what is a "reverse" harness?

The reverse harness includes the reverse signal from the transmission. It changes the screen to the camera.
Ok, that's what I thought but wasn't sure.

I have all my harnesses needed now for the FRS install with my JBL setup. Is there a good write up with some pics on which wires and harnesses go where and so forth? What gets soldered where? Sorry for the rookie questions. Just want to make sure i'm doing everything correct. I'm not doing backup camera and usb port for now. That will have to come in a few months. Christmas has me strapped for cash.
Just to keep things clear, would you mind listing the items you purchased please? I'll be doing this soon after I can find one of these cool radios.
