Just to keep things clear, would you mind listing the items you purchased please? I'll be doing this soon after I can find one of these cool radios.

Several pages back has a list also. I got the best deal through my local Toyota dealer on the harnesses.

Basically I am looking to do everything on my workbench that needs soldered in. Is there any soldering or splicing on the vehicle side that needs done? Or is all the splicing/soldering done on the adapter harnesses? Been a long time since i've done any stereo stuff.

Nothing on the vehicle end. You can create all your wiring on the bench and then connect it in. Keeping everything organized will help because you won't have much space back there behind the radio otherwise.

So I think many people are confused about the different bezels that surround the head units. I have the rounded version but also have factory JBL. The difference lies in whether you have JBL with single CD/cassette or if you have JBL with 6CD. I didn't have 6CD, therefore I got the rounded version without the ledge. Either one will work, it's just a matter of if you like or don't like the look of the trim piece with your head unit. Mine still doesn't look perfect, but I'm happy with it.

Similar to [MENTION=113957]MrRoo[/MENTION], I have the JBL 6 disc which means there is a little piece on top of the HVAC. I would like know if there are any options other than buying a different HVAC and dash.

Yep... that's mine. How did you get in my vehicle to take that picture?

I don't see a way that piece on top of the HVAC can stay and still allow the new HU to fit in. Has anyone just cut the top piece off? I am wondering if I can get away with cutting it so all I have to buy is the large dash piece around the HU and HVAC.

The dash piece that goes around everything that has the indentation around the HU will be easy to find since I just need to find a 4wd non-6-disc in a salvage yard. Looking for the correct HVAC controller with dual climate control and the ledge, will be near impossible since the only one I can think of is a limited with nav.

Well it's in and working!! Volume level seems to have a little up and down on its own at times. Everything is soldered. I have the gap between the radio and bezel. I'll make a filler piece. It will look OEM. Thanks to everyone who provided input.

Its much better than stock!! But couple small things to work out. No button back lighting for some reason and the volume has a mind of its own. So after work today ill mess with it some more and button it up.

I have one extra antenna wire that does not hook up. Am I missing something? What controls the backlighting for the buttons? I don't have any that illuminate. The screen dims like it should when headlights are on.

For the antenna, you can just not use it or get a 2 into 1 adapter. Think I got one through amazon; I'll try to find it.

Maybe you can enlighten me, but why do you need the male to female antenna cable or adapter tip? Does it do something different than the adapter? Also, the Bluetooth mic isn't required for Bluetooth streaming in case anyone wondered. Some Toyota radios do require it, but this one doesn't

It's a scion logo. I've looked high and low on how to change it. I'm not thinking it's possible.

Ok, that's not too bad. Since I won't have any navigation hardware for my install, I wonder if it'll simply not allow me to go to the navigation page.
