Ordered an LE and a TE came in.....

Well this is a quandry, Getting rid of my FJ and got my mind wrapped around the idea of the LE (especially when I looked into a TE and found out I'd be better off trying to get an alien anal probe).
My LE was supposed to hit port 8/29 and been waiting patiently. Called today and got a message back the Owner would call me later (?) I see no Black LE on the lot but a TE is sitting there "just arrived" Black.
Hmmm, decisions decisions.....TE would be about $5k less as well.
I dunno.

If you were planing on upgrading the suspension, the 5K will get you just about an Icon Stage 6. and the XReas will be gone in that case anyway. Leather is a Katz skins option away and that can get you heated seats as well....

sooo..... the question is how badly would you mod it :)

Yikes, I will be looking into the shipping manifest for my '13 LE too (they say 10/2 now).

As for the Alien probe thing...well, I'd rather not talk about that...suffice to say I avoid New Mexico at all costs. :wow: Hahahaha.
 
I had always said, "IF my FJ just had a sunroof...." it does seem like the TE has everything I loved in my FJ - has the things I always wished my FJ had - and is missing the things I did not like about my FJ (bad visibility, boxy shape, bad backseat and rear door, sideways rear door, etc)
Damn, these last 4-5 weels was an exercise in getting used to the idea of the LE (comfort, convenience, bells/whistles)
I appreciate the input, guess I wasn't expecting a curve ball.
 
if you had your heart set on comfort get the LE. But $5k savings and a TE would be hard to pass up for me. You could always get the seats done in Katzkin with the savings
 
If you are like me, you ordered what you really wanted and if you are still like me, you want what you ordered.

But then again if you were like me you would make the black Limited look like a Trail so maybe being like me is not the best thing.

It's a mind twist for sure, now I'm pouring over the details that I ignored before because it wasn't part of the equation, for instance.
The TE is the same price as the SR5 with Premium package. I am not getting where the TE is justifying the price ( no leather, no heated seats,etc) It appears to have the knobs overhead for crawl control etc but does not have the KDSS (at the price I am seeing at the Dealer)
I imagine the pull out tray and controls cost $$

Locking differential, better skid plates, non-ugly bumpers and rocker panels, sliding cargo tray, more I'm sure
 
and 17's instead of 20's. I'll vote for the TE but I am slightly biased. With the 5k in savings, that's plenty of money to correct the nose dive, and get a dang nice suspension setup and more capable tires then the stock dunflops. :D

Do post pictures of whatever you get!!
 
Get the TE and I'll sell you all the parts you need to convert it to a LE! Everyone loves the BP TE conversion, just imagine a black TE with white LTD parts!
