For what it's worth, I ordered the same thing. Arrived today in the same box but stamped Aisin and doesn't look used.

@ OP, my previous comment still stands, but maybe it would be worth a shot trying to order it again from Amazon to see if you're sent an actual genuine Aisin unit? If the returns are free and you receive a full refund, it might be worth a shot. But if you don't feel comfortable doing so, then I still recommend using RockAuto

I'd be willing to bet the original box was real. Somebody bought a real / new fan clutch, then chucked a crap one in for a full refund. Scum bags! Glad you finally got the real deal.
I say go for it as I bet it’s exactly like [MENTION=650002]Too Stroked[/MENTION] suggested. Some lowlife pulled a quick one on Amazon and unfortunately you got their returned garbage.
If not, can always send it back.
I purchased 2 of the exact same ones from same listing and had no issues.
Aisin Aftermarket is a legit Aisin Co. Its part of the Aisin Group.
In Sept 2021 Aisin Aftermarket updated the look of their packaging to the one that you received.
When your ready, go ahead and order the same part again. You just had a bad luck of the draw, and received a non Aisin part on your first order.

OK second try.
I ordered again from the same Amazon link and this time I got something that is definitely new and looks to be genuine.
The AISIN stamp is smudged but seems legit.
Thoughts?
EDIT: in the photos you can see what looks like an imperfection on the side where AISIN is stamped. But it’s only discoloration; the metal isn’t marred or scored, at least I can’t perceive anything to the touch.

Oh definitely what I think happened the first time. Now I’m just seeing what everyone thinks about my second attempt. It’s definitely a new unit, and it’s stamped with AISIN this time.
you can also go to the 4runner forum on facebook, there is a guy named joe joe, he sells factory toyota parts and for me has recently beat mcgeorge and camelback and his shipping was cheaper. But he might not be able to beat rock auto for asian parts. He has good reviews.

Thought this shortly after posted, scum bags are the ones that let it go out used crap, maybe the previous guy sent back what he got never know.

What's the price difference from the Amazon one vs the rock auto? Are they kinda close or way off like to good to true as that's another indication something is wrong. I do think Amazon is better then eBay with less counterfeit.

Then most likely if in the ball park. Good possibility that its legit. I suspect
what the other members concluded. That a used one was sent back and you were the lucky one to get it.
Sadly that happens everywhere. I even got an open bottle of antifreeze from the local auto parts before because of dishonest people and the parts store didn't verify it was open.. :-(
