Installed mine and helped to install my buddy's skids today.

Nothing to write home about the install. First time took a while to do. Second time around took about 30 min.

1. Did replace the security screws with longer allen head screws like everyone else.

2. if you don't reuse the braces, install will be so much easier, because those braces have tension on them and fighting gravity, so getting those allen head/ security screws started without releasing the tension kinda sucks. What me and my buddy ended up doing was using two floor jacks, made starting those screws easier and reinstalling our RCI skidplates also easy peasy. I reinstalled those braces, because it makes theft that much harder.

3. clean the bottom of your truck before installing....eating dirt is sorta fun until u get it in your eyes.

4. i had to mod my skids because it interferred with my sliders (which uses U bolts). If your sliders doesn't use U bolts then no problemo.

5. i have no rattles or any issues while driving even though the driver side cat is touching the skids. I see this as a non-issue.

6. Dang thing is sharp, Easy to slice your hands on some of those edges. I wore gloves, but my buddy didn't.

7. having 2 people doesn't necessarily make installation faster, but having a floor jack or jack stands to hold up those black braces will.

Finally got my Cat shields installed today. Was able to use all the supplied hardware and security bolts. Possibly because, as MrBlah mentioned, I don’t have the braces. My C4 skids are so wide and the angled up flanges on the skids are at least 2” high, the braces had to be removed for the skids. I forgot to take a pic with the skids back in place.

What is the purpose of the brace, or does removing is hinder the support in any way?

They just add a little rigidity and protect the cats. They don’t effect anything if you have skids in that area. I haven’t had them on for two years now. If you have aftermarket skids, they have to be removed sometimes depending on the skid design. The full skids tied together act somewhat like a large shear panel and stiffens things up. Since mine were removed, the supplied security bolts worked perfectly. If you plan to reuse them you will probably need the longer M8 x 1.25 x 40 mm long bolts that others have mentioned. If you don’t have skids I would reinstall them.

I wanted to ask if it's normal to have creaking noises from these or skid plates in general? Only hear noises at very low speeds and typically when turning in and out of driveways or parking spaces.

I posted this as a separate topic and another forum member suggested I post my question here. Anyway, I replaced all the bolts with m8x40mm as the bolts that came with the set were just too short.

I have no creaks, but my drivers side cat shield has as a very slight vibration, but only in reverse. It’s not bad and lets me know when I’m in reverse. Lol. And yes, I used the isolators. I’m guessing you have no skids, or the skids you have allowed the reinstall of the tubular cross brace. Since I don’t have the braces the hardware was perfect. They should change the length the 40mm to cover the option.

I wanted to get these but I have a 2013 with KDSS so according to them, it’s a no go and I’d rather not waste $200 to try and find out lol guess I’ll stick with RCIs

i have a 2016 w/ kdss and it fits.

I did have to mod them to fit my sliders due to the sliders using U bolts but most people won't have that issue because its pretty rare that a slider company uses U bolts in this day and age.

I live in a state, where i would probably go to jail if a criminal was ever hurt while committing a crime. Although, i also heard that if i leave out some clean syringes, a spoon, and some foil for the criminals to take with them, the criminals might not press charges... ROFL.

Knowing caliraised and their BS, they probably will say this is a design feature by their "engineers".

yup i do, and i double checked my aftermarket skids with a rubber mallet to duplicate the vibration frequency, unfortunately, it is not the aftermarket skid.

Although previously, i had to do the exhaust Y pipe was hitting my aftermarket skid, and i had to put a pipe clamp around the exhaust hanger to fix it. I also doubled checked this also, and this is not the cause.

They could have made the tray area under the cats a 1/4” deeper. It only happens in reverse ONLY at idle. I can live with it. Is yours only on the driver’s side also?

mine occurs intermittently from stopping at stop signs and then accelerating
i have no idea if its caused by the cat skids, because I have alot of things that rattle and make noise, but there is a new rattle that comes and goes intermittently that i get at stop signs and parking lots.

Not enough to bother me, but enough to point it out.

I love being a beta tester.

I was a Beta tester with my Lasfit floor mats. Can you tell if it is only on the driver’s side? Is there something you could use as a temporary isolator to identify the vibration?

Hopefully, lasfit will make it right.

As for the skids, I haven't had time due to work.

I'm not sure what the fix would be, considering i dont know anything about thermodynamics properties of steel and plastics (isolator). Way out of my league.
